TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

Hi am Laura . I am a full time blogger from the Scottish Highlands. I run three sites. my main one is missljbeauty.com. I also have mtblm which is fitness and mountain biking and lastly a new venture spillinglifetea which is lifestyle based.

WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING?

I was suffering from depression and anxiety. I needed an outlet for my creative side and I love to right. Even though I was told I would never do anything creative as I have dyslexia. I excelled at English at school and was the first person in Scotland to take spoken English higher.

HAS YOUR BLOG CHANGED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED?

Yes I started with a beauty focus. As I have grown I am more fitness and lifestyle focused.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FUNNIEST MOMENT SINCE STARTING YOUR BLOG?

Trying to explain my job to an elderly lady. A lot of people pay you for talking online.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR WORST MOMENT SINCE STARTING YOUR BLOG?

When the Moz DA algorithm changed and took my score with it.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A NEW BLOGGER STARTING OUT?

Be yourself. You are worth it and do what makes you happy.

WHAT SURPRISED YOU ABOUT BLOGGING THAT YOU DID NOT REALISE BEFORE YOU STARTED?

I could make this my job. I am a full time blogger.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

mountain bike. When ever I can be in the mountains I will be.

IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY WHAT WOULD YOU DO FIRST?

Tell my husband to hand his notice in. Then buy a huge house I can fill with rescue dogs.

WHO IS YOUR BLOGGING HERO AND WHY?

Don’t hate on me but I don’t have one. I blog for me and I am happy doing that.

Such a great story for her blogs. I absolutely adore it! Great to see she overcame her dyslexia and proved that she could be just as smart as everyone else! My brother and I also struggle with dyslexia. <3

I really enjoy learning about other bloggers. I am so busy between work and blogging, and I don’t ever really have the chance to connect with other bloggers, so it is nice to read an interview.

Thank you and glad you enjoyed the post, it does sometimes get hard to connect at timex

There’s definitely still a market for blogs. It is a full-time effort as well. I could easily spend 60+ hours a week on my blog! Can pay off though if you’re consistent, dedicated, and write good content, though.

She is so inspiring. I can relate to some of her experiences, as I have made blogging a full time job too. I also started out with blogging only as an outlet to fulfill my love for writing. Never did I realize that it would be a profitable business!

When she talked about “Moz DA algorithm”, I felt her pain. I suffered from that too! But I am glad that she is doing what she loves to do despite having what others might deem as a struggle. She is so empowering!

A lot of us suffered and it is something we talk about a lot x
