Who Are Ligneus

Ligneus Products are a family run wood manufacturing business, located in the Cotswolds.  They are a wood manufacturing business, with the inspiration coming from the rustic natural beauty around them.

They offer a range of wooden products, which is continually expanding.  Creating bespoke, branded and engraved products to customers specifications.  Creating products for your home and garden.

I have always had a love of wood and wooden products.  My Grandad was a Carpenter and had his own workshops.  There was nothing I loved when I was younger and staying with my Grandparents, was spending time in his workshops watching him work and the smell of wood always transports me back to those happy memories.

Below is just a few of the products in their range, that I think you may love, or even a lovely gift for Mothers Day which is fast approaching.

  1. I received a bunch of daffodils from our back garden one year from my little boy! I even saw him pick them and was intending to tell him off but when he presented them to me with a ‘Happy Mother’s Day Mam’ I couldn’t help but smile and say thank you!

  2. A machine that re-seals plastic bags that produce come in for if you don’t want to use the whole bag.A little odd for a mother’s day gift.

  3. Bought my mum a kitten for myself. She had always said I couldn’t have one. So I bought one for her because I thought if I gave it to her as a present she wouldn’t send it back.

  4. My kids love to make me coupon books for things like hugs and “free” days where they leave me alone for a while. It’s pretty sweet though. 🙂

  5. I gave my sister a cute babygrow whilst she was pregnant with my niece, so it was her first present ever on Mother’s Day. Little did I know it backfired on me, as I ended up holding baby for 14 1/2 years!

  6. I once gave my mother a Leylandii bush as a mother’s day present, thinking it was a pretty houseplant. She lived on the 2nd floor!!

  7. My son once drew me a card for mothers day with two giraffe on. We had recently been to the zoo. Only they didn’t look like giraffe, more like a gentlemans private parts 😂 the card took pride of place for all to see! It’s in his memory box now 😂😂

  9. I received a mug with a drawing that my kids made of me…. it wasnt very flattering picture lol missing teeth…. boobs down to my knees lol its the thought that counts lol

  10. I’m not sure I’ve ever given a funny present. I tend to stick with flowers and things I know my mum will like otherwise it would be a waste of money. As boring as that is!

  11. A bath set that my kids won at the school tombola..with the raffle ticket still stick to it. Bless them. It’s the thought that counts!

  12. A Happy birthday card because my daughter was only 3 months old and my husband forgot and it was all they had in our corner shop!!

  13. Mine usually play it safe – flowers, chocs, etc. Now they’re older they tend to bake as well – last year was vegan lemon drizzle 🙂

  14. A shocking pink hoody, with TOP MUM in huge letters and and arrow pointing up. I still can’t believe she wears it outside the house.

  15. When I was about 12 I got my mum what I thought was a beautiful card- it featured a shiny, sparkly green dragon in flight on a silver background. Inside I wrote, ‘Happy Mother’s Day you old dragon!’. For some reason, she wasn’t impressed 🙁

  16. Last year I got a highland cow!
A friend had a gorgeous fluffy highland cow toy that I coveted every time we visited.
The girls mentioned it to hubby (I think they were embarrassed that every time we visited my friend all I wanted to do was cuddle the cow) and last year they decided to buy me one of my own. So now I own a gorgeous cuddly highland cow and I couldn’t be happier

  17. I bought my mum a huge bar of chocolate but in the run up to Mothers Day I got told off (totally unfairly of course, since I considered myself an absolute angel) and sent to my room so I took great delight in sitting there and eating the whole lot. Can’t remember if I bought a replacement so I better add a bar of chocolate to her pressies this year.

  18. I dressed the same as my sister who my mum hadnt seen for a long time, i went in and said i forgot her present, i went out and my sister went in with flowers, it took my mum about 30 seconds before she shrieked 🙂

  19. I once put one of these fake scratchcards in my mother’s card. I thought it was funny but she wasn’t as amused when she realised she hadn’t actually won £50,000.

  20. A mother’s day card which is so be personalised with their name, but they had forgotten to change the name!

  29. I have been very lucky and always received lovely Mother’s Day gifts, whether handmade or bought and I wouldn’t dare buy my own Mum something she’d hate!

  30. Not a present but made my mum breakfast in bed when I was a kid on Mother’s Day and was making cheese toasties.

Thing is I had never seen a block of butter before as we normally had margarine and I thought the butter was a block of cheese! Can see where this is going…

  31. My Mum got me perfume once, well – she thought it was perfume, it was for men…. Oh the joys of not having a husband to do the mothers day pressie for you – and it was kind that she reminded me I was husbandless.. 😉
