Life In A Lockdown – Week 9

life in a lockdown

It is a new week, and although the country is starting to get back to a bit of normality, for many we are still in lockdown.  How has week 9 of life in a lockdown been.  You can see last weeks post here. As with the other weeks it is the same questions.

lockdown

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Honestly very up and down, on one hand I am used to the lockdown and just plodding on each day. On the other hand I went into overdrive. Both the boys have caused concern as well which has not helped my mood.

masked

I rang C’s consultant last Tuesday as she is getting worse with her gastro pains, I had a call and they had a cancellation for Thursday.  So masked up we headed into the hospital and she finally had her scan.  She hated the injection they gave her but at least we are a step forward into finding out what is wrong.  I was surprised at how many people did not has masks on though. I was so concerned as luckily it was not busy and we were in and out within half an hour.

2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

Apart from the usual things, the boys have taken up a lot of time this week for various reasons.  Also chats with my granddaughter, it melts my heart when she says hello Nanny.  I am also doing back end work on my site, I am trying to improve site speed, also figuring out why although it shows I have SSL certificate my site says not secure.  I am also working on old posts and optimising them.  At least it stops me getting bored.

3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?

Pretty much the same as every week, apart from the hospital with C.  We also had one of the boys over and I had to give him a hug.  On Friday evening we decided to pop out and had an ice cream by the river which was lovely.

4) What advice do you have for others?

Pretty much the same as every week really, but as schools and work places are going back and more shops opening.  It is really just try to keep social distancing going and wash your hands etc

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

As C takes medication daily, we also boost her immune system with supplements as well.  So to reduce her taking tablets I have purchased B16 patches and Vitamin D patches.

6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

All over the place really, everything has been out of sync this past week.

7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Just the same as every week seeing family and friends.

How has your week been?

  1. This week, we were put on a “General Community Quarantine” after 2 months of “Enhanced Community Quarantine.” I don’t really care what the difference is between the two, I just don’t like the idea of some companies asking their employees to return to work when the public transport system is still banned from operating. Ugh. No long term planning at all.

    1. The trouble is no one knows what will happen in the future, do we keep in lockdown, do we start to ease of restrictions. Do we social distance do we lapse it. It is such an unknown and that in itself is scary. We will be isolating as much as we can

  2. I have to agree, with easing of the lockdown rules, more and more people are heading out so it is important that we still maintain the social distancing. HopeC gets better

  3. I wore a mask for the first time this week and it felt very strange. I also didn’t feel it gave me any protection or protected people I was with!

  4. I’m really pleased to hear C got her scan this week and I hope you two get some answers. It must have been scary going in the hospital though. I was in GPs for blood test yesterday and both the nurses were in full PPE inc long gowns/masks. They were chirpy as ever. I wore my own mask too.

  5. I am so glad C got her scan – hopefully that will help with getting some answers for you. I’m so sorry your blog has been such a nightmare of late as well. Hopefully this new theme helps!

    1. I am glad we finally had the scan, have afollow up in 2 weeks but ringing today as she is in so much pain. Fingers crossed my new theme is ok x

  6. It sounds like your busy doing blog work, I need to do a whole load of housekeeping jobs on mine too. I must get round to it. Glad your daughter got her scan and I hope it gives some answers. Mich x

    1. I have been busy on the blog and had to sort a new theme yesterday as my old one virtually went on a standstill. I am glad the scan is done I am going to ring today to see if there is anything they can do to help her.
