Life In A Lockdown – Week 5

life in a lockdown week 5

So here we are week 5 of the Life In A Lockdown linky, where I team up with other bloggers to share life in lockdown.  You can find my post from last week here.

So how has this past week been for us?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

After the drama of my tooth breaking the previous week and then being attacked by a kitchen cupboard. I was hoping for a relaxed week. On Thursday I started feeling ill, I was getting a bit worried as thought it may have been CV, but it never felt like it was.  I went onto 111 and they confirmed it was not thankfully.

Then on Sunday my husband popped to the supermarket and came home with a costa coffee for me from the machine.  Not long after this I was sick and this carried on all day, resulting in me getting a mouthful of ulcers, which are still there now. I am hoping I can say everything is fine next week.

2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

I have been working on my blog, and updating old posts and new pins for Pinterest.  Plus I am also doing battle with the education authorities as just found out that C has no education for next year.  I am so angry and upset as yet again she is being penalised for having an illness.  So have been emailing and having phone calls with various people.

3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?

Pretty much the same as previous weeks, going out for essentials.  I have been lucky to have my shopping delivered the past two weeks.

4) What advice do you have for others?

Very easy – stay home and stay safe.  The rules are there for everyone you are not exempt unless you are a keyworker

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

I have not bought anything this week apart from chocolate from the local garage when I went for milk

6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Our routine is pretty standard so nothing has changed

7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Apart from meeting up with family and friends, we have C’s new CT scan date through for August.  Athough I have spoken to her Consultant last week who will try to get an emergency one if lockdown ends sooner.

If you are missing seeing your friends and family during lockdown Laura at Miss LJ Beauty has some great advice on how you can keep in touch.

  1. Oh no your poor teeth. I will have to tell you the drama of my front teeth one day. that will make you laugh.

  2. I am so sorry to hear that C has no education for next year, that is unacceptable. However I am glad you’ve got a date for the CT scan.

    1. She will get her education, I am not letting this go I have already caused a panic by sharing a conversation I had in a meeting last year. It is just another thing that children who are ill are victimised in. I am hoping if the CV dies down we can get an earlier appointment which she desperately needs.

  3. I’ve been working on my blog too, updating old posts and creating new pins…in between home-schooling 3 kids and working from home.

    1. I am hoping that it helps improve things as got a bit deflated the other day when my DA dropped again

  4. Sounds like another rough week, was the costa from machine? why are they not have education next year? whats the reason they gave

    1. The costa was from a machine which is why I think it made me ill and left me with a very sore mouth. No education as she is now 16 and funding changes, I am currently fighting and speaking to everyone concerned about it

  5. Oh wow, you’ve had fun. I was attacked by a knife last night, glad I moved my foot away in time. Had the living room wall come at me the week before. It’s not safe indoors lol. I am definitely staying indoors – might be affecting my sanity though. Good luck with the CT scan x

    1. Oh no your house sounds like my house, it is not safe anywhere lol. CT scan is booked for August but if lockdown subsides a bit she is going to book her for an urgent scan

  6. That’s so bad that nothing has been sorted for C’s education next year, you have so much to deal with it’s not fair that you have all of this as well x

    1. Honestly it does not surprise me, I am being assured that they have her best interests at heart and will sort this. If not I am already in contact with our MP over medical matters so will speak to him about this

  7. it sounds like you had a tough few weeks on the health front – hope you’re feeling better soon.
can your MP help with pressure on the council? or writing to the lead councillor for education at your local council. Your daughter needs proper provision for her education. I hope you get a CT scan soon too.
Love bec – I’m doing this linkup too… writing mine at the mo.

    1. It is a nightmare, I am currently speaking to our MP over a medical issue for her, honestly she has been let down on so many sides. I will speak to him about this if I get nowhere in getting the support she needs. I do currently have everyone running about trying to sort things out as they have messed up.

  8. Aw nice of your hubby top bring home a coffee machine for you! I think mine needs to learn a lesson from him x

  9. Sorry to hear that you have been poorly. Hope you are feeling better now. My friend’s daughter has just been told her college course has been cancelled for next year – she is devastated and now looking for something else

    1. I am feeling a lot better apart from still having a sore mouth. That is awful no wonder she is upset I hope she manages to find a new course she enjoys x

  10. Sorry to hear your daughter is been missing out on her education I hope you can get that resolved soon so are you have been feeling poorly too. We have been busy trying to update our blog

    1. It is just another battle we face, which is wrong. I hope you manage to update and get your blog to how you want it. There is a lot of hard work that goes on in blogging

  11. Gosh, it doesn’t sound like it has been the best week for you. I hope your mouth is on the mend very soon and you manage to get something sorted for Cs education. Mich x

    1. Thank you mouth is getting there and I have made so much noise about it this week everyone knows I am on the case of her education x

  12. I am sorry to hear about your tooth . I too have been updating my old blog posts and clearing out my hard drive of rubbish and old photos I Mo linger need for blog. I hope you have a better week next week.

  13. A coffee machine sounds like just what is needed right now. Keep going, it will end eventually. I hate the process of trying to gets kids into school, I had a nightmare with my son so I empathise

  14. Sounds like you had a busy and productive week. I’ve been trying to do all the things I pushed back while I was busy working since I got a lot of free time this quarantine.

    1. It was a busy week, at least the lockdown is giving us the chance to do all those things we have been putting off x

  15. Oh no I am so sorry you have had such a rough week I hope you are starting to feel better now. How nice to get a costa – oh I could just have one myself and a nice cake.

  16. Sorry you have been poorly, not what you needed after the tooth thing. Hope this week has been better?
