Life In A Lockdown – Week 5

life in a lockdown week 5

So here we are week 5 of the Life In A Lockdown linky, where I team up with other bloggers to share life in lockdown.  You can find my post from last week here.

So how has this past week been for us?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

After the drama of my tooth breaking the previous week and then being attacked by a kitchen cupboard. I was hoping for a relaxed week. On Thursday I started feeling ill, I was getting a bit worried as thought it may have been CV, but it never felt like it was.  I went onto 111 and they confirmed it was not thankfully.

Then on Sunday my husband popped to the supermarket and came home with a costa coffee for me from the machine.  Not long after this I was sick and this carried on all day, resulting in me getting a mouthful of ulcers, which are still there now. I am hoping I can say everything is fine next week.

2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

I have been working on my blog, and updating old posts and new pins for Pinterest.  Plus I am also doing battle with the education authorities as just found out that C has no education for next year.  I am so angry and upset as yet again she is being penalised for having an illness.  So have been emailing and having phone calls with various people.

3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?

Pretty much the same as previous weeks, going out for essentials.  I have been lucky to have my shopping delivered the past two weeks.

4) What advice do you have for others?

Very easy – stay home and stay safe.  The rules are there for everyone you are not exempt unless you are a keyworker

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

I have not bought anything this week apart from chocolate from the local garage when I went for milk

6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Our routine is pretty standard so nothing has changed

7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Apart from meeting up with family and friends, we have C’s new CT scan date through for August.  Athough I have spoken to her Consultant last week who will try to get an emergency one if lockdown ends sooner.

If you are missing seeing your friends and family during lockdown Laura at Miss LJ Beauty has some great advice on how you can keep in touch.

    1. She will get her education, I am not letting this go I have already caused a panic by sharing a conversation I had in a meeting last year. It is just another thing that children who are ill are victimised in. I am hoping if the CV dies down we can get an earlier appointment which she desperately needs.

    1. The costa was from a machine which is why I think it made me ill and left me with a very sore mouth. No education as she is now 16 and funding changes, I am currently fighting and speaking to everyone concerned about it

  1. Oh wow, you’ve had fun. I was attacked by a knife last night, glad I moved my foot away in time. Had the living room wall come at me the week before. It’s not safe indoors lol. I am definitely staying indoors – might be affecting my sanity though. Good luck with the CT scan x

    1. Oh no your house sounds like my house, it is not safe anywhere lol. CT scan is booked for August but if lockdown subsides a bit she is going to book her for an urgent scan

  2. That’s so bad that nothing has been sorted for C’s education next year, you have so much to deal with it’s not fair that you have all of this as well x

    1. Honestly it does not surprise me, I am being assured that they have her best interests at heart and will sort this. If not I am already in contact with our MP over medical matters so will speak to him about this

  3. it sounds like you had a tough few weeks on the health front – hope you’re feeling better soon.
can your MP help with pressure on the council? or writing to the lead councillor for education at your local council. Your daughter needs proper provision for her education. I hope you get a CT scan soon too.
Love bec – I’m doing this linkup too… writing mine at the mo.

    1. It is a nightmare, I am currently speaking to our MP over a medical issue for her, honestly she has been let down on so many sides. I will speak to him about this if I get nowhere in getting the support she needs. I do currently have everyone running about trying to sort things out as they have messed up.

  4. Aw nice of your hubby top bring home a coffee machine for you! I think mine needs to learn a lesson from him x

  5. Sorry to hear that you have been poorly. Hope you are feeling better now. My friend’s daughter has just been told her college course has been cancelled for next year – she is devastated and now looking for something else

    1. I am feeling a lot better apart from still having a sore mouth. That is awful no wonder she is upset I hope she manages to find a new course she enjoys x

  8. A coffee machine sounds like just what is needed right now. Keep going, it will end eventually. I hate the process of trying to gets kids into school, I had a nightmare with my son so I empathise

  9. Sounds like you had a busy and productive week. I’ve been trying to do all the things I pushed back while I was busy working since I got a lot of free time this quarantine.
