Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 68

For the past 68 weeks we have been in some form of lockdown.  Yesterday all restrictions were lifted and being marked as Freedom Day.  So where does it leave this linky, I was chatting with Sarah and Rebecca the other day about whether the linky is stopping or being renamed, we are carrying on but changing it slightly.  But I do know we will be back in lockdown at some stage, I really do not think this is the end.

The questions we have been answering are

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Very mixed emotions here this week, I had my dentist appointment last Friday and we agreed that my root can stay put.  This really cheered me up as I was not looking forward to having it taken out.

I had a long chat with C the other day regarding her starting college, I swear it is getting harder all the time.  The person at our Local Authority, who is now meant to be working with us has not even said hello, I have sent in various emails.  So I have now emailed the co-ordinator who helped us get the EHCP saying I need help.  The college are lovely and I have been speaking with a lovely lady.  Unfortunately, C can not do the course she wants, as you all know how badly she was let down with her education, she needs to sit her GCSE’s.  So currently we are waiting to see the next step.

I have been suffering, and finally rang my GP yesterday, luckily it was a different Dr and she was lovely.  But looks like I am going to have scans again at some point.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

Apart from the usual not a lot, the heat has really been wiping me out though so that has not helped me.

3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

I really can not think, I have been dealing with college and trying not to melt.

4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?

No new plans, although heading to Primark today with my Mum and Caitlin if she is up to it

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)

I was on Facebook the other day and pictures of my granddaughters came up, and I missed them and wanted to send them a treat.  They are going away next week, so said I would get an outfit each, this turned into 4 matching outfits.

Sunday was National Ice Cream day so I ordered us desserts from a local company.

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

My family and friends

7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?

Never take life for granted, be grateful for the little things

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Keep on going, take one day at a time and we will get through this

Thank you to

I think it is personal choice, no one is right or wrong at the moment with the current rules. I am just getting ready to go to Primark with my Mum and C. This is a huge thing as she has been completely bedbound for ages. I wont be wearing mine, only for the fact I get too hot and my glasses steam up and I get really aggitated and literally can not take anything else off from what I am wearing. It will be the first time I will have enjoyed shopping, my Mum is wearing hers still and C probably will as well. I will still have mine in my bag if I feel the need to wear it

I hope they manage to work out something for C, it is absolutely crazy that she has been so let down. Glad that you managed to speak to another doctor, hopefully they can help.

I have spent all day on and off trying to apply and change courses online, I swear they see my name pop up and raise their eyes. Just had a telephone call from a lovely lady who has explained everything to me we are withdrawing the course she wanted and she is doing an achievement course for GCSE this year, and then she can look at courses in the future. I am also trying to speak to someone at our LA who is ignoring all emails.
I am thinking I need to actually see a Dr for me as symptoms not improving and slightly worse which I do not have time for

I am glad you got to spend some time with your mum and Caitlin today and that your root can stay put. I hope you get your scans soon.

It was lovely the three of us going out, and my Mum and Dad treated C to a huge wardrobe make over and she is now the proud owner of a lot of new clothes, jacket, bag and sunglasses. Sadly she was struggling by the end so came home to rest. I am very relieved my root can stay especially when she said after we made the decision that they would have had to cut the gum. I am going to ring my GP tomorrow as not getting better.

Would you believe I didn’t know Sunday was national ice cream day. Well done for knowing that and getting some in. We might need to celebrate it anyway as it’ll be nice to have something cold in this heat.

All restrictions are over now, but feel it is only a matter of time before they come back in

I wish I’d known it was National Ice Cream day but I probably took part without realising! 😉

I agree with you about either another lockdown or restrictions tightening again maybe in the later part of the year after people go a bit mad in the summer as they’re apparently allowed to. I’m going to keeping myself away from most of it tbh x

It is going to happen just a matter of when it happens, I will be carrying on as I have the past year

I love reading these posts. I dont like the fact it is called Freedom Day when we are clearly in the throws of a third wave. Fingers crossed people are sensible. I will be wearing my mask.

I think it is mixed at the moment with people wearing masks, I know we will be back in lockdown at some stage though
