Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 52

Here we are 52 weeks on from when I first took part in the Life In A Lockdown Linky.  A whole year of living life in a different way to that of what we were used to.  You can find my very first Life In A Lockdown post here.  I had no idea that I would still be taking part in this linky, this far on.

It has been great to document the strangest year of my life and to look back on to see how much we have gone through and achieved.

The questions have changed slightly this week

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am not too sure if I am being honest, part of me is hopeful that things will improve and get back to some sort of normality.  The other part of me thinks, we will be heading for another full lockdown at some stage. I think a lot of it is that we can not really plan too much or have things to look forward too.

My husband had his first vaccine last week, he was not as lucky as me and was really ill with it, at one point I sat studying him to see if he was breathing, he is feeling better now thankfully.  My parents have their second vaccine this Friday so all going in the right direction here.

I am still getting very stressed out about C’s education and still fighting for her EHCP.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

I have been lucky and work has been busy, plus I have been looking at making our home 3 year old proof as having our granddaughter come to stay for a couple of nights next week.

Plus C came to Tesco with me the other day as I needed to pop in, as we were coming out she said she felt faint so we sat down.  I took the trolly back and came back to her and sat with her in the drizzle, told her to tell me when she felt ok to walk to the car (which was close).  After a while as I was freezing, I asked if she felt ok to go to the car, she said yes, she just forgot to tell me.  This is brain fog at its best.

3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

I would have to say my Pesto Pasta recipe post, I am always getting fed up of what to cook for dinner that night.  Plus finding something we will all eat or can be adapted.  I also love recipes that our quick and easy to make, and have often thought about sharing my quick and easy recipes, I just never get around to doing it.

I was made this for dinner last week, and whilst eating it I thought I would share the recipe.  I might even remember to take pictures next time I make it.

4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?

We have our granddaughter staying next week for a couple of nights which I am so excited for.  Although ask me next week when I am writing this post with a 3 year old here, I might be saying things differently.

Also it is my birthday next month, I am hoping to get to the hairdressers just before my birthday (I have already told my hairdresser I need to see her).  My husband has booked us to go out for a meal (lunch time) as eating is outside for now.  But looking forward to going out to eat.

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)

I have bought a Frozen Ready Bed for when my granddaughter comes, she is Frozen mad, and a stair gate to go at the top of the stairs, just for safety as our stairs are steep.

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

My family and friends, my coffee and technology

7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?

Never take life for granted, be grateful for the little things

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Keep on going, take one day at a time and we will get through this

Thank you to

I do love Pesto Pasta, you have me hankering after it now, especially with the warm weather this week! Sorry to hear your husband didn’t feel well after the jab, but good to hear he is on the mend. Heard so many mixed stories!
Awww hope you have a fabulous time when your granddaughter stays over!
I’m with you though, hope that things will get better but you totally know there will be another lockdown, nothing is ever that easy! Sim x

I hope you enjoy it as we love it here. I was fine with mine and just felt tired and a bit off he still is not 100% now. I can not wait for her to come and stay although C is not too sure as she is sharing her room with her, but felt it the better option so she is not on her own at night. I hope I am wrong and things carry on opening up and getting back to some normality, but there is something niggling away at me that we will be back in lockdown

Loved your Pesto Pasta Recipe and I plan to try that. Hope redesigning your home to make it baby friendly has been fun, don’t forget the stair-gates, fire guard and table corner guards as well

It has been strangely busier than I expected which is great. I do plan on having a lazy weekend before my 3 year old granddaughter comes to stay

I am feeling such mixed feelings about the easing of the restrictions and I really hope everyone plays it safe so we don’t have to go through all of it again.

I know exactly how you feel, it’s been a tough year with lockdowns and I’m trying to remain hopeful that everything will improve but unfortunately I doubt things will improve once restrictions ease
