Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 38

As it is Tuesday it is time for my weekly post in the Life In a Lockdown Linky.  We are now into weeks 38 it just does not seem possible. With recent events I will be contintuing with this linky for a long time to come.

This will be my last post for Life In a Lockdown this year, as I will be shutting off my computer until the New Year.  So how has the past week been for us.

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Strangely ok at the moment.  We went into Tier 4 on Sunday, luckily we had popped over to see my Mother In Law for a socially distanced hello and to swap presents on Saturday.  Where we also saw my Sister In Law and Niece, this was the first time in nearly a year since we had seen them.

I have resigned myself to the Tiers, although means I can not see my granddaughters and give them their presents until after the New Year at least.

I thankfully managed to see my Dentist las week who put a temporary filling over my broken tooth.  It actually looks like a tooth, so feel happier opening my mouth now. I also spoke to him about C, and although they are still only dealing with emergencies, after I explained about her illness (which he understood) he agreed to see her in January.

I am not looking forward to Wednesday as C has to go and have two partial toe nail removals, but we are all set and ready.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

Wrapping presents, and going into a panic that C does not have much this year (although she is having a new TV for her room).  So been buying a few stocking fillers for her.

Also getting tons of emails regarding C’s EHCP appeal, we now have a zoom meeting on 5th January I am already working myself up to an argument, but the lead in the meeting is someone who first dealt with us at the very beginning of C’s illness and knows C so am hoping it will be ok.  I have said to C she can be present or if she wants to listen in can sit out of the way

3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?

Lockdown as it just seems to be getting worse, especially now there is a new strain of the virus

4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?

How you never realised how much you enjoyed going out and your freedom

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

Just Christmas presents, this is the first year I have not stepped foot into a shop to do my Christmas shopping.  It has all been done online

6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?

Technology, whether facetiming family, messaging, or shopping it has been my life line

7) What is something your readers might not know about you?

Still trying to think on that one

8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

That everyone close to me has maintained staying safe and well

This is my last Life In A Lockdown post for 2020. I am going to be switching off and enjoying time with my family and eating far too much.  Have a lovely Christmas and New Year, and stay safe.

Thank you to

We’re also in tier 4 so it’s pretty strange to not even be able to pop into a random shop to wander around, but I’m trying not to think about it x

I have not been shopping for a very long time, although I did pop in a local Tesco on the way back from hospital with C this morning. Hope you have a lovely Christmas

I think it all started getting to me last week. It’s been a blooming tough year but I’m glad it’s Christmas and trying to think positivity.

After a very tough couple of weeks and feeling quite low in mood I’m finally in the festive spirit. I think life is going to get tougher now especially with the Brexit palaver.
