Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 34

Life In A Lockdown Linky - Week 34

Here we are still in lockdown, now in week 34. It really does not seem possible from when we first started.  No one realised just how long this would continue for.

From the start I have been taking part in a life in a lockdown linky. Where each week myself and a group of other Bloggers answer set questions.

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Fed up, we are following lockdown rules but the traffic on my road seems a lot of people are ignoring it.  I feel unless we all stick to the rules it is just going to continue on

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

I did have an outing out with my husband last week to the Opticians finally.  They are very strict on appointments and it felt very safe.  We have had to book appointments to collect our glasses which we have never had to do before.

3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?

I honestly have no idea, I would like to think that things can start to ease off and we can start to see friends and family again and go out and socialise

4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?

I never realised how much I cherished and took the freedom of meeting up with people until it was taken away from us

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

New glasses, we go to a lovely family run opticians and I went for the works with anti tint, and for the lenses to react to light so  do not need sunglasses all the time. Also Frozen II birthday cards and wrapping paper to go with my Granddaughters Frozen II presents.

6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?

Facetime I can keep up to date with my family even though I can not see them

7) What is something your readers might not know about you?

When I left school I wanted to do Pitmans secretarial school.  I ended up staying on in 6th form and passed City and Guilds in Business Studies which also incorporated the Pitmans side

8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

Thank you to

  1. It’s crazy we are at week 34. Some weeks seem to fly by whilst others really drag. Factime has been great for us too.

  2. I’m worried about going back to work next week, especially because my area was in tier 2 before the lockdown and I have a feeling it’ll be a tier 3 as infections are in their 90s-100s daily x

  3. In April I laughed at my partner having her birthday in lockdown. I did not think we’d still be in one on my birthday over the weekend. It’s crazy!
Ohh! Even an outing to the Opticians sounds exciting now. lol
I am really missing the freedom too. Everything has to be planned so much now x

    1. My birthday was in April and I got teased for it, can not still believe we are celebratng lockdown birthdays. It felt amazing to go out somewhere even if it was the opticians which I hate

  4. To be honest, it doesn’t even feel like we are in lockdown. During the first one our town was like walking through a ghost town, now when I go down it just seems normal. Only a few shops are shut and its packed with cars and people

  5. I think a lot of us now realise the importance of technology and the value of it especially during lockdown. I still miss heading out to meet friends for coffee and hope things will get back to normal one day

  6. The traffic around here has been the same as well – which was different than last time. Outside the village shops as well is always busy if we go past.

  7. Technology has been a lifesaver to stay connected to friends and family, but its not the same is it. I really hope people get a little bit of Christmas cheer and normality back this year, even for a day x

  8. I totally know what you mean about cherishing the time you get with others when meeting up. I definitely feel that so much, especially this week.

  9. The opticians do seem to have stepped it up a bit. We managed to get the kids tested and they were very careful, hand gel at the front of the store, limited people in there and only by appointment. It does help you feel safer.

    1. I agree she was also thankful to me that me and hubby went together so she didn’t have to steralise the area before testing me

    1. Haha I wear them all the time anyway but can see these are stronger, although may need to go back as one side of my glasses is hurting my ear

  10. I had an opticians appointment last week and there were more staff than customers, it did all feel really safe though
