Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 33

Life In A Lockdown Linky - Week 33

As you will all know by now Tuesday is Life In A Lockdown Linky day.  I have been taking part every week since week 1.  I do not hnk any of us thought we would still be writing this and still being in Lockdown this far on.

So how has the past week been for us

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am totally fed up, last Monday my new granddaughter was born, I am desperate to going and meet her and also see my other granddaughter who is proving to be an amazing big sister.  I have had lots of facetime and photos but that just is not the same.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

Apart from having facetimes I have been busy dealing with C’s fight for education. I have also been working hard adding more items to my gift guides.

It was also one of our friends birthdays last week, so Saturday we all glammed up and had a party.  Ok this was done remotely via zoom but it was the best option and also gave us all a reason to put on some party clothes and make up

3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?

There has been a lot of press about the new vaccine.  I am still on the fence on this especially for C as this could cause her illness to get worse.

4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?

How much I never appreciated the freedom we had until it was taken away from us in Lockdown

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

Nothing really apart from a gorgesous big sister and little sister matching t shirt and vest which I just could not resist.

6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?

facetime, it has been my life saver

7) What is something your readers might not know about you?

I passed my driving test while I was still 17 on my second attempt.

8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

Thank you to

  1. Aww! Congratulations about the new granddaughter. It is such a shame you can’t see her.
We have been self isolating and I never appreciated the freedom, even in a lockdown. We can’t even nip to the shop for bread or ketchup. Ugh! Roll on Thursday when we can venture out.
Technology is a wonderful thing. I would be lost without it too x

    1. Thank you, she is not fussed by technology as just sleeps when I am havng my nanny chats with her. I would be lost without it though as at least I have seen her

  2. Congratulations on your new Granddaughter, I am so sorry that you’ve not been able to have much needed Grandma cuddle and bonding time though.Thank god for technology I guess.

  4. I passed my drivers license on my second attempt as well. Also missing my sister as she tends to get matching t-shirts not only for me but my kids as well so we all wear the same clothes on Christmas day

    1. I tell my husband who passed first time, that the best drivers passed second time. That is lovely wearing the same my Mum did that with me and C a few times as well

  5. I am so sorry you are fed up. I hope you get to see your new granddaughter soon. I too am on the fence about the new vaccine.

    1. I get daily pics and facetimes of both my granddaugters but not the same, hopefully next two weeks go quickly I just need a lot more information and proof before I can consider C having it

  6. Congratulations on your granddaughter being born – how exciting! Although I completely understand how frustrating it must be not being able to see her. Hopefully soon you can 🙂

  8. We put on our glad-rags for a Zoom disco last week- but it’s not the same is it? We really miss not being able to hug relatives – hopefully you will get baby snuggles in December x

    1. It is not the same but better than nothing. I can not wait I got the most gorgeous tear jerking photo last night and made me want to go and see the girls and give them Nanny cuddles

  9. Aww congratulations on your granddaughter. What a lovely and amazing thing to happen in lockdown . You must be over the moon xxx

    1. I would not have coped without technology, during the last lockdown for contact with my family and friends and this time the same thing and of course meeting my new granddaughter

  10. FaceTime really helped us to especially during the first lockdown. it was the lonely way we could communicate with the outside world.

  11. I am really gaining a true appreciation for technology over the course of lockdown. It has been so lovely to be able to stay in touch with people via skype and video calls etc.

  12. I am totally with you when it comes to never truly appreciating our freedom until lockdown hit. I’m worried about the vaccine too… It usually takes so much more to get a vaccine safe so I’m skeptical.
