Life After Lockdown Linky – Week 79

Here we are in week 79 of Life After Lockdown.  From the beginning of lockdown I have been taking part in a linky where we answer questions of how the past week has been.  Originally in lockdown, and now after lockdown. How has your week been? Read on to see how my week has been.

For those wanting to take part the questions are

1. How are you feeling/coping?
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

petrol

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am struggling at the moment, my treatment is not really working and I am in constant pain.  It is affecting me in all ways at the moment, even yesterday I was in so much pain I could not concentrate on my work.  Plus my poor husband gets my grumpiness all the time.

Also, stressing out that we still have no news on whether C is on her course or not.

 2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?

We went to a friends 50th birthday party on Saturday, it was our first proper night out seeing our oldest friends.  It was lovely to see everyone, but as I was designated driver I was on the soft drinks watching them all getting merrier.

3) What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?

Be respectful to others, and always carry a mask and hand sanitiser with you

4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?

I have just driven past three local petrol stations, please be kind to others stop going in and topping your cars up.  We have not filled ours up since this started, but will need to put some in soon.  It is ridiculous they are getting petrol delivered as usual but everyone panicking means they are being unfair to others who do need it.  To put it into reality a friend of mine has a 3 year old son, he is has leukaemia and having treatment.  They need to use their car daily for his treatment, plus take him in if his temperature spikes.  She was driving on fumes last week trying to find petrol.

5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

I have been struggling with working and have read some great posts this past week, all of which I can remember but not which blog

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

My daughter and that I must be doing something right

7) What has made you smile this week?

A video from my granddaughter, that girl is just so funny

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Nothing at the moment

Thank you to

I hope you will start feeling better soon and that your treatment will start to work. It’s nice that you got to see friends last weekend. I got to see a friend as well on Saturday, it feels so good to see people again.

Sounds like you have been busy and nice that you have a great bond with your daughter. Also, even though not drinking, I am glad that you enjoyed the 50th birthday party xx

It has been busy, I am lucky to have such an amazing daughter, the party was lovely and so nice to see everyone as well even if I was the sober one

This petrol thing has gotten out of control. I’m glad I don’t use my car much. I’ve heard of fights breaking out on some forecourts which was worrying.

Sorry to hear your treatment isn’t working and you are in pain 🙁 Hope you feel better soon! Have to admit that being the sober one at a party can be amusing at times, I’m sure there were some funny moments! Hope you hear about C’s course soon, fingers crossed! Sim x

I have my next appointment in a couple of weeks so hopefully another option will be made. It was amusing being the sober one, until we were going home, I had my husband our friends and one other to get into the car. That took a lot of time but finally got there. I hope we hear something soon as well, they will notify by C’s email so I am on at her to keep checking her emails throughout the day

The petrol shortage has gone crazy, I’ve not driven out unnecessarily unless it was for appointment/work related. I do hope people are more courteous about it

It is a nightmare, I had to take Caitlin to a meeting yesterday and go back to get her, all 3 petrol stations I drove past was shut and on the way back within 10 minutes, one had opened and the queue was massive

We’ve had a great week so far, thanks. We managed to get petrol and we had a date night out with friends taking part in a charity quiz. Was lots of fun.

I really donr get panic buying. How did people cope in the wars. they had to find ways to adapt which is what I tried to do I just think what a great way to help the enviorment lets walk more lets get on our bikes we dont need to panic buy, petrol or anything else there are always other ways around a problem

I totally agree it has gone mad, the media put out there that there will be a shortage of this or that and then everyone panics, for no reason. If we all carried on as normal, you would soon see there is no reason to panic buy and stock pile and that there is enough to go round for everyone
