Lets Talk HotDogs

If you are like many of us, getting fed up with the lockdown  Trying to find new and exciting meals to put on the table for the family.  Or have a family that is fussy and will not try new things.  Then how about mixing up meals that they already love, so lets talk about hotdogs.

Hot dog Challenge

I was recently contacted and asked if I wanted to take part in a fun challenge to come up with meals for the family.  In my house and that of many other families who suffer with chronic illness. Creating meals is a challenge we face daily, which is why I looked at incorporating the hotdogs into meals we already eat.

Hot Dog Pizza

Start with a Margherita pizza and a tin of Ye Olde Oak American Hot Dogs.

Drain the hotdogs and slice them

Arrange the sliced hotdog on top of the pizza and cook

Once cooked slice and serve.

Hot Dog with a twist

Everyone loves a hot dog, but how about giving it a little twist

Slice the hot dogs and fill with cheese slices.

Wrap the hot dogs in bacon to seal in the cheese slices.

Cook slowly so the bacon cooks and the cheese melts.  This can either be done in a frying pan on the hob or in the oven on a baking tray.  Or even on the bbq.

Enjoy in a bun and top with your favourite sauce or mustard.

Other ideas

Once you start to think about alternative ways to use hot dogs there are so many options.

  • Savoury rice
  • add to pasta
  •  add to an omelette

What fun and different recipes and ideas have you come up with.  Why not share with us and move hot dogs on from their traditional way,  I would love to try some of your ideas and maybe even feature on the bog.
