Fundamental Importance of the Early Years Education

Every parent wants their kids to be sharp, clever, and intelligent. The reality is that kids are a Godsend gift that should be nurtured, cherished, and allowed to blossom.

For this reason, their social, ethical, and educational development ought to be a priority for each family and the country at large. Taking this into account, it doesn’t make sense for anyone to want to deny or argue against the benefits offered by childhood education.

Early Childhood—What Does It Refer to?

An attempt to define the development phases that children have to go through reveals there exists three primary phases:

  • From birth to 8 years: Early Childhood
  • 8 to 12 years: Middle Childhood
  • 12 to 18 years: Adolescence

Of the three phases, the first stage is deemed the most important. It’s one of the most crucial stages with regards to the child’s mental and physical development.

Their brain begins to grow and bloom during this phase, making it all the more important. The good news is that you don’t have to lose out on their growth, thanks to tools such as the EYFS tracker by Tiny Tracker.

It’s an online tool that makes it possible for parents and tutors to monitor and observe their children’s progress. Through it, they get to capture all the special moments and document every part of it.

ECE (The Concept of Early Childhood Education)

ECE falls under a group called education theory. The branch is intended to capture formal and informal teaching for kids aged between three and five years.

Most people in the UK typically refer to it as nursery education, preschool, early education, or daycare. However, what makes it essential is that it’s meant to prepare the kids for life in elementary school!

4 Reasons Why ECE Is Important

By now, you already know that learning begins the moment you make your first cry during birth. Furthermore, you have already glimpsed that the first few years of a child’s life are crucial for their internal and physical growth.

The following is a list capturing the importance of ECE:

  1. Neurological Development: Early childhood serves as an important time for brain development. This is when neurons become organized, making it possible for brain functions to begin developing.
  2. Ethical Blossoming: Children start to become ethical persons at this stage. The education imparted in them is what teaches them the importance of respecting their elders. They also get to learn the difference between what’s right and wrong.
  3. Self-Esteem: Confidence is a virtue that every child needs to have. Often, it’s something they can only get from outside the home environment. It’s what makes nursery or preschool the ideal option.
  4. Development of Cognitive Skills: Cognitive skills refer to the development of essential life skills like thinking, memory, and attention. Using these skills, they get to learn how to make comparisons, evaluate a situation, understand cause and effect, and remember things.
