The Diary Of A Menopausal Mum

Diary Of A Menopausal Mum – 15/10/2021

Friday, is my weekly round up post, where I talk about anything and everything, have a laugh or a moan.  Plus share what I have been loving this week.  I did not post last week, as it was hectic here, and I was barely home for one reason or another.

Education

education

You will know by now the continuing struggle for education for C, it is 2 years exactly we have been fighting this.  When C had her interview for the course she is wanting to go on, and to obtain her GCSE’s.  We were told we should hear within 2 weeks.  That was Wednesday, and still no news, I did email, and am constantly asking C if she has heard anything.  So chasing again today, this is affecting her mental health as well, which we are working hard with via counselling.  It is a constant 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Babyloss Awareness Week

Each year I share my post that I wrote years ago for Babyloss Awareness Week, it is the only post I have written with raw emotion and never gone back to re-write or correct.  I want it to show the pure emotions of babyloss.  In trying for a baby I lost 8 babies, one set was twins.  I speak openly about the emotions and how my whole life was consumed, and the effects it had on me physically and mentally.  You can read the post here, I hope anyone else who is going through this, can see they are not alone, and my inbox is always open to anyone wanting to reach out even if it is to cry, rant ask questions.

Motorway Driving

motorway driving

Recently we have been travelling on motorways a few times, at various times of day or night.  Now I am known in my family as telling other drivers what I think, equally I am polite and am courteous to other drivers.  One thing I do get angry about is the stupidity of other drivers.

Recently, we had a friends 50th party, I was designated driver and driving home on M25 about 1am in the morning should have been fine.  There was our car and two other cars just in front and no other traffic, I literally sat open mouthed and slowed right down as I saw one car nearly miss going into the side of another.  I have also witnessed cars keep braking for no reason to find they are on their phones, or people automatically pull into outside or middle lane and just go slowly.  These really drive me up the wall, and get me giving a running commentary to anyone in the car.  It really is no wonder that there are so many accidents.

18th Birthday

Gift Ideas for a girls 18th Birthday

C is going to be 18 in less than a month, and as she will not be having a party or celebrating with friends, another thing her illness has taken from her.  We want to make it as special as we can for her.  My poor Mum is holding all her cards and the gifts I keep buying for her.  I am hoping to get 18 gifts that have meaning to her or turning 18 for her to open.  I am doing quite well, but still need more.  If anyone has any suggestions please send them my way.

Other News

news

In other news I am still suffering with whatever is going on with me, but I have had my smear test results back which has obviously shown something, as now being called yearly for them.

Christmas is definitely getting nearer as I am working hard on my gift guides including a new eco-friendly gift guide.

How has your week been?

Wow, almost eighteen, they grow up so fast. A piece of personalised jewellery might make a nice gift if she likes jewellery. I hope she has an amazing day x

Ah wow that is quite the week, you have done so much!
I have had a very busy one too, doing blog work, parenting, attempting to cope with a dog and puppy, and also launched my new pod, Mind Vox today so I need a rest now lol

It sounds like it’s been incredibly busy recently, I hope you get some answers soon for your daughter and your health. I drove down south a couple of weeks ago and saw some shocking driving on the motorway.

Sending a big hug especially around baby loss week – the memories are always there.
    love bec xx

We are still waiting for news on C’s education, I am getting frustrated and very angry, she has been let down the past couple of years and the goals keep getting pushed back. We still have no idea what is going on.
I get extremely vocal at drivers on the motorway.
I share my story during babyloss week, as sometimes it can help others going through the same to realise they are not alone, as it is very lonely if you are the only one going through it

C is the baby of the family, I honestly can not see how she has reached becomming 18 so quickly I still remember holding her as a new born a year or so ago. I am loving working on my eco-friendly gift guide as I think many of us are trying to be more eco-friendly

Sorry to hear you’ve been having a difficult time recently. Our week has been fairly uneventful, we went pumpkin picking and my boys went a bit overboard so now we’ll be eating nothing but pumpkin for a month, haha.

Sounds like you’ve really got a lot on at the minute. It’s good you have somewhere to store presents in secret.

It is busy, trying to be ready for an 18th birthday, then a 1st two days later and a cake smash here so grandad can do a photoshoot with her, then her sisters 4th a couple of weeks later. But they are my world and worth all the added stress

Aww an 18th birthday. How lovely that you can celebrate without restrictions this year. I need to get organised for Christmas as we have a lot to pack in this year!
