I know I usually post this on a Friday, but tomorrow I am being Nanny for the day and looking after my two granddaughters. I have not seen them in a while and can not wait to spend the day with them. Which is why I am writing my Diary of a Menopausal Mum post a day early.
So what have I been up to this week
You will all know the battles we have had with getting education for C. This week she attended a workshop where for the first time in years she would be with other people her own age.
She was scared and we had tears on the way there, luckily we left early and I was able to park up and calm her down. We were the first there and able to go in first so she could be settled for when the others arrived. She chose a place where she could quickly leave if she needed to. She stayed for the whole workshop, and even joined in, and then had her lunch and completed an application to the new course we are looking at for her.
She is struggling with her anxiety, and this is something I am now trying to help her with. She has even agreed to do another workshop later in the month.
The last few weeks, I have been sharing how I am feeling and the problems I am currently facing. I still have my Drs words of I know exactly what it is and this will help ringing in my ears. Great powers without actually seeing me and now have to wait for my scan next week.
The amazing treatment is not working I am still feeling red raw sore, uncomfortable walking around and sitting down, and the abdominal pains are getting worse with them being worse at night as the more I do the more uncomfortable it gets.
Getting to see a GP is virtually impossible at the moment, which following a recent poll I did, and speaking to others confirmed. Which is why yesterday I wrote to my MP as this is something that needs addressing and something that could turn out to be life threatening to someone. I am not going to let this drop and will argue it out as my Mum pointed out to me, a lot of older people do not use phones with apps or cameras, and a lot of people can not talk properly on the phone.
What I have been loving this week
The Oxford Artisan Distillery Oxford Rye
Last Saturday, we headed to friends for a BBQ (yes in that rain), so we took along a bottle of The Oxford Artisan Distillery Oxford Rye, to share and enjoy.
Oxford Rye is not a whisky and not intended to be a whisky. Oxford Rye is the purest expression of their ancient heritage rye. The grain is harvested, twice distilled and then rested in American Oak to bring out its best characteristics. You will find it has an intoxicating aroma of sandalwood and vanilla, whilst on the palate the delicate flavour of creamy praline nuts and sourdough is followed by a finish of cloves, nutmeg and smooth spice.
We all preferred to try it differently, some over ice, some neat, with a dash of water and with a little dash of coke. I preferred it with coke. How would you try it?
Preparing for back to education for C, I need to make sure she is protected as much as she can be. One thing I think is a must have in any school bag or work bag is ColdZyme.
ColdZyne is a mouth spray that treats and alleviates the common cold. It is unique and works immediately to create a protective barrier between you and the cause of the cold.
