Today is day 18 of Blogtober, over half way through and still going strong. Todays prompt is Some Might Say.
Did you ever mutter the words when growing up, ‘When I have my own kids they can do this, or I would never say that’. Now as a parent how many times have you said these, and realised you are turning into your Mum.
Some of the classics that both my Mum said to me and I have said to mine

There’s no such word as can’t
I used to get told this and used to reply with oh yes there is or say ok I can not do this. My kids used to say this to me and I would come out with this phrase.
Because I said so
How many times did we hear this growing up, and think Mum was being mean. Then I think to how many times I have said this to mine. Saying it for their own benefit or because it was not feasible at the time.
It’ll all end in tears
We used to get told this when fighting or playing some stupid game. I have lost count of the times I have said this while trying to cook dinner,
Ask your Dad
This is a trick all us Mums do, if we do not want to be the bad guy, we just tell them to ask Dad. Or because you know they will go on at you more than they will Dad.
Say pardon not what
I used to be pulled up on this, as were my children and probably every other child that exists. We all teach them manners, but sometimes need to be reminded just what they are.
Where you born in a barn
This is a classic we have all heard, kids somehow have difficulty in shutting doors properly.
What classics did your Mum come out with that you say to your kids?

I often speak and my mother comes out haha!
I know I can hear my Mum coming out of my mouth at times as well x
I don’t think I use a lot of what my Mum used to say, but I remember, don’t get your knickers in a twist whenever I got stressed out. I think maybe I suffered stress from a young age, lol
I’m going to follow you so I don’t lose you after the Blogtober linky 🙂
My Mum used to say that to me as well and I do get very stressed all the time
hahaha! I remember my mum saying these things to me and me vowing never to say them but I do. Every single one. lol x
I was never going to say any of them easier how quickly that changed
“because I say so” has been banned in our house! I remember my parents always saying this.
My parents said it as well and I am guilty of saying it to mine
