Today is Day 17 of the Blogtober 2020 Challenge, the theme today is Saturday night. Saturday nights have certainly changed for everyone this year.

Gone are the Saturday nights where we would meet up with friends or family. Where we could catch up over a meal or a few drinks. Since March when we went into lockdown, Saturdays have gone from not being able to go out and stay in. To finally having a bit more freedom and starting to enjoy meals out and a visit to the pub.

Our Saturday nights
As with most parents (although C is not a baby anymore), we find ourselves staying in more. Especially now that there are so many restrictions to going out, I find it easier to stay at home.
A typical Saturday night for us is to order in a takeaway, and sit and watch a film or binge on a new series we have started to watch. We are so rock and roll these days.
When I was younger
A Saturday night when I was younger started on a Saturday afternoon. I would meet up with my friends and we would hit the shops looking for a new outfit for that night. Sometimes if we were lucky we would get a pair of shoes to match as well.
Then it would be home to get ready for the evening ahead, I think my hair used to take the longest to do. I had an 80’s shaggy perm and getting it right took a lot of time. Once ready we would meet up at a friends house and then head out. A lot of time it would be to certain pubs, where everyone knew everyone anyway, before heading to a nightclub.
How different are my Saturday nights now, although I would not change them. What are your Saturday nights like now?
