Brightening Up a Dull Evening

Brightening Up a Dull Evening

Once you have put the children to bed, and can finally curl up on the sofa you will probably be hoping there is going to be something worth watching on TV to keep you amused and entertained for the next few hours, before it’s your turn to wander upstairs to bed.   However, you will not need us to tell you a lot of the shows, documentaries, films and TV series you can watch will not be to your taste,…

The Reality Of Living With A Teen

The Reality Of Living With A Teen

We all know I have two teens living in my house, my Daughter C who is 13 and my stepson Shaun who is 18, so I thought I would do a little post about the reality of living with a teen in the house. We all think that toddlers are the hardest age, let me tell you that is not the case, teens are the hardest age so far and I am going to give you a few reasons why. I am not going to talk about C, as due…

Jungle Jam Review and Giveaway

Jungle Jam Review and Giveaway

One of the greatest joys you can teach a child, is the love of books.  They are never too young to enjoy a story, even as babies they love the bright colours and hearing your voice.  This is something all mine have enjoyed, story time is a special time to sit and have a cuddle and read a story, especially a new book where you can talk about what you think is going to happen and watch their imaginations go into overdrive. I was very lucky to be contacted to…

My Week – 12/09/2016

I have not done a my week post for a while now, due for various reasons, but am going to restart doing them, as I know a lot of people liked them and I have had people message me regarding them, also sorry this is a little late. Last week, was full of mainly positives for a change.  Will start with my Daughter C, I had a little panic on Monday, as we had not heard anything regarding her tutoring sessions, and school starting back on Wednesday, so the emails…

#PlayMore Pledge

#PlayMore Pledge

As you will all know by now, I am a huge animal lover, I have written about my pets a few times, and also sharing about Max who is my rescue baby, and came to his forever home with us.I was recently contacted, and asked if I would like to take part in the #PlayMore Pledge, where you pledge to play with your dog for an extra 15 minutes a day.  Which is not a hardship for me with two dogs one of them always wants to have a play….

Happy Easter

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone, hope you are all having a lovely day, this long weekend has thrown me out totally but at least I am right today that it is Sunday. As I have done previously with Valentines Day and Mothers Day, I thought I would find some fun facts behind Easter, as we all know what Easter is all about, and not just the chocolate 🙂 The first Chocolate Easter Egg in the UK was produced by Fry’s of Bristol in 1873. In 2007, an egg covered in diamonds, sold for nearly…

Something I NEVER Thought I Would Say

Something I NEVER Thought I Would Say

Today I have done something I NEVER would have thought I would say. It is just not in my nature and I know you are all now dying to know what I have done. This afternoon, I spent the afternoon gutting, cleaning, hoovering, steaming my Daughters bedroom, ok I know, I have done that many times before but the shock is that I enjoyed it. Ok I did not enjoy the clearing all the rubbish (well what I call rubbish) and giving it a thorough clean, that really is not…

My Christmas

My Christmas

Hope everyone had a good christmas, ours was lovely as always. Christmas Eve started with me making sausage rolls with christmas songs blasting and singing away. After lunch I popped to the pub with my husband for our annual christmas eve drink, our daughter stayed at home with my parents.  I fell in love with the mulled cider and had a couple of those and my christmas baileys latte, before heading home for dinner and then prep the veg for the next day. After dinner my daughter and parents went…

My Week – 19/12/15

My Week – 19/12/15

This has been a funny old week really, last week of the school term, my Daughter was ready to have a break, she has been quite stroppy and moody this past week or so. Monday I woke feeling ok but a little sad as it was the 17th anniversary of my Grandma’s death, she was like a second Mum to me, and I still miss her and chat to her in my head, one of my biggest regrets is that she never met her Great-Granddaughter she would have loved her….

My Week – 13/12/15

My Week – 13/12/15

This week has been a right mix of emotions, I have seriously been through the mill. My Mum was called in for a laparoscopy on Wednesday, she had the call on Tuesday afternoon, following a scan she had last week.  Luckily it was not as serious as we thought and hopefully with the medication she has now been put on and monitoring she should be fine. Obviously, this did not stop me worrying though. Thursday evening was chatting to my stepson and his girlfriend and they confided something to me…
