My Goals for 2017

My Goals for 2017

As my regular readers ill know, 2016 was a very hard year for us mainly due to my Daughters illness and the battles we faced along the way.  We are now a year down the line and she is still ill, but I am in a much stronger place.  As 2016 drew to a close I started thinking of the year ahead and how to make it a great year.  So here are my goals for 2017. Obviously, the first goal is to help and support C and try to…

A Letter to My Daughter on her 13th Birthday

A Letter to My Daughter on her 13th Birthday

Today my beautiful daughter turns 13, she is a teenager (finally). Dear C Today is your birthday, you have finally become a teenager.  We have laughed and joked about you suddenly turning into ‘Kevin the teenager’, we do get the occasional grunt and shrugs. I remember when you were a newborn in my arms, thinking about the future and how it felt impossible that you would be a teenager, but here you are. Last year, we talked about your birthday this year, how we were going to celebrate it and…

Blogtober Day – Favourite Christmas/Birthday Present Ever

Blogtober Day – Favourite Christmas/Birthday Present Ever

Day 6 of Blogtober is asking what my favourite christmas/birthday present has been. I have always been lucky that when I was growing up I always got what I asked for on my christmas/birthday list, and my husband is always great with surprising me, it is hard to choose, but I have chosen one. A few years ago, we desperately needed another car, and for my birthday he got me a little sports car which was a convertible.  As my husband at the time used to do car detailing and…

Goodbye April – Hello May

Goodbye April – Hello May

Another month has gone by, it only seems like yesterday that we said hello to April, where has this month gone.  I am also going to add my weekly post to this post as well.   April was a good and a bad month for us, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to one of our dogs, he was ill and not responding to medication, the vet said he could have had an operation but there was a strong chance he would not come through it,…

My Week – 16/04/16

My Week – 16/04/16

Another week has flown by and time for my weekly update. I will start with my Daughter, as you will have seen from my update post on Thursday, we have finally got the diagnosis.  After chasing up my Consultants PA, and telling her school that a letter should be there anyday.  I had a meeting with school on Thursday morning to discuss a plan to get her back into school.  As my post had not arrived, I asked if they had received the letter, they had just received theirs and it…

My Week – 17/01/16

My Week – 17/01/16

I have been a bit quiet this week, but unfortunately can not say it was because I was busy doing fun things. My Daughter is really ill at the moment, in my last post I said about her being ill again and had a day off school, Monday morning she wasn’t well again but I sent her in to see how she got on, as thought she really can’t still be that ill and maybe it is a Monday morning thing, but put a note in her planner to ask…

Goodbye November – Hello December

Goodbye November – Hello December

Sorry this is a bit late, but it has been one of those weeks. How was November for you? Ours was busy, but the main event was after waiting over 18 months since his accident, my husband finally had his operation on his knee, unfortunately, we will not know if this is a success or if they have managed to repair it properly until he goes back to the hospital next month, so we are keeping everything crossed. November also saw my Daughter turn 12, how that happened I…

My Week 8/11/15

My Week 8/11/15

This week we have had no dramas, no stress just for once a normal week, which is so refreshing. I have had a very happy Daughter as she was counting down to her birthday which was yesterday. How my Daughter has just turned 12 is beyond me, the years have gone far too quickly. She had a great day, starting with texting and messaging me to see if she could get up, usually we don’t see her until much later in the morning.  She loved all her presents was a…

To My Daughter

To My Daughter

Dear Daughter Today you turn 12 years old, 12 how did that happen. These past couple of days I have been sitting and thinking back to 12 years ago, when I was sitting in my hospital bed eagerly waiting your arrival,  a day I had once thought would never happen. At 3.45am on 7th November you came into our lives and the love I felt for you hit me so hard, as my newborn Daughter laid in my arms. Over the years you have grown from a beautiful baby, into…
