    I make use of a solution of Milton to clean off tea and/ or coffee stains from cups and mugs. Very effective.

    When you notice your drain is starting to clog/run slow, pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down it, followed by a 1/2 cup of vinegar. Cover with a wet cloth, wait five minutes and then flush with hot water.

    Use your washing powder as a general cleaner. It really cuts through dirt, grime and grease, very good on shower trays, baths and sinks. Put some down the loo and watch the stains disappear, no need for other high priced cleaners.

    use white vinegar for cleaning glass, it will pong for a short while but the smell soon disappears, its fantastic for cleaning our glass dining table and the windows

    with scuffs on wooden floor – use wet corner of towel to wet the scuff dry with damp sponge then rub a tennis ball over it- it works a treat

    I don’t always iron everything but fold it straight away from the washing line. You can get away with ironing bed linen and towels by doing this.

    Expensive products aren’t always necessary, you can clean on a budget with soda crystals, vinegar etc. I find doing a little bit every day helps keep things ticking over if like me you had a busy end of term so no time for a full clean!

    I never use Lenor unstoppables in the washing machine I dilute them down in warm water in a spray bottle and use them as a linen spray

    I try and do a room or two a day to spread it out. But by the time i’ve done the house, the first room needs doing again! Kitchen wipe over daily.

    Tell yourself you will clean for one hour, turn the radio on and away you go. It is amazing how much you can get done. Or half an hour if time is tight. Sometimes putting things off takes up more time that actually cleaning

    Use white vinegar to brighten your windows. Mix 2 tablespoons of white vinegar with a gallon of water, and dispense into a used spray bottle. Squirt on and wipe away with a clean microfiber cloth (not paper towels, which can cause streaking).

    Do a massive clean up once a month. Like pull all the pots and pans and plates out the cupboard and the sofa out. Really deep clean. And tidy and hoover everyday.

    i keep on top of the cleaning i hoover every day pots are done straight after tea and the kitchen is cleaned then too i always mop the floors straighten cushions and give the bathroom a clean just before bed and everyone knows if they make a mess clean it up or i will go on strike

    Dust from top to bottom so you don’t displace dirt onto lower surfaces that you have already cleaned.

    There’s lots of glass cleaners but I find they all leave streaks. I use the old fashioned windolene but not neat. On a wet cloth it wipes off easy and no streaks

    Put some of your favourite disinfectant on your duster before using it to clean lightbulbs. The scent will fill the room when the lights are on.

    My best cleaning tip is to clean with natural ingredients such as orange or lemon peel. It’s good on grease and germs.
