June Round Up

This year really is going too fast, it has to slow down a bit, I can not believe we are in July already, June has been quite a rollercoaster month for us, so grab a coffee and catch up in my June round up.

As always I will start off with C, it has been quite an interesting month for her, she has been taking her new medication for a month now, and it has made a difference in her.  She is still housebound and in a lot of pain, but she does seem brighter, and more engaging.  Her tutor has said, she is taking more in and conversing more in her answers, we do still have a long way to go with her, but any improvement is what we want.  She has managed to sit and watch a whole film with me this month, which is something she just has not been able to do for such a long time, at the end I had tears in my eyes because of the film, but also because I was so happy that she had managed to sit down with me.

We had bad news this month, my Father in law, or Grumpy Grandad as he is called by everyone, has not been well, he got a lump in his neck 6 weeks ago, finally went to hospital to get it checked and two weeks ago, was told he has cancer, it is in his throat and spread to other areas, and that he could have a couple of weeks to a couple of months left.  I had to tell C, and was amazed at how she took the news, we chatted about it, and I asked if she would like to see him, and she said she would.

We went last week, and I had to prepare C that he would look different, because he had lost weight and also his speech has been affected.  She was so good, she even sat laughing and giggling at him (their thing they always do), and in some very strange way, it brought back my Daughter how she was before she was ill.  Without saying anything, she knew that this would probably be the last time she saw her Grandad, and she gave him a hug goodbye which they never do.

I have been busy this month and currently have three giveaways live

You can find out about all these giveaways and how to enter here plus look out for two more giveaways I have coming very soon.

As you can see June has been a rollercoaster month, but one thing that June did, was to show me that my Daughter is still there, I got to see a glimpse of her old self before she was ill, that really was what I wanted and needed to see.

Rachel at Kids, Cuddles and Muddy Puddles has shared her June in photos, including some great craft ideas, getting out of the house, and road safety and much more, you can find out more about Rachels June here

How was your June?

Challenging time for you most of the time and now the news about a family member too. Those sort of hugs are so precious – remember my daughter saying goodbye with a hug to her granddad and how I asked her to make it a special one. Loss is bloody awful but of course means we have love which is a good thing. The Macmillan site helped me a lot when I lost my parents and wanted to support my children. Sending strength to you and yours for the weeks ahead. You absolute love for your daughter shines out of your posts. Popping over via Bloggers on Thin Ice

It was awful saying goodbye, trying to be upbeat as he is positive he is going to beat it, I kept asking C if she was ok while we were there, and on our way home I did have a chat and said it will probably be the last time she saw him. She has experienced the loss of her great grandparents. Macmillan are amazing. And thank you I do love C to and will protect and make things easier for her as and when I can xx

Sounds like a tough month but I’m sure you will all pull through. My June started off hectic as I went to Malta and Spain but the rest of the month has been fairly quiet! x

Thank you, I am really feeling for my mother in law at the moment, she really is struggling to accept it and he is not being the easiest patient, I am proud of how well C has accepted it x

Sounds like it has been a tricky time but how positive that you have seen glimpses of your daughter prior to her illness. Hope that continues

What a difficult time for you all. My thoughts are with you, it was very similar when I lost my Grandad recently so I can completely empathise with you all. Thinking of you all.
