The ups and downs of living with a teen

May Round Up

Wow it is June already, can you believe we are half way through the year already, May seems to have flown by, which means it is time for my May roundup.

I will start with C, if I am being honest, she is just getting worse at the moment, this I think is mainly to do with her jaw problems, she has been struggling since October last year, and it is getting worse all the time.  She is at a stage now with it where both sides of her jaw is affected and she can not open her mouth, so eating is a complete nightmare, and I am getting so stressed out with trying to find her something she can eat (or at least try to eat), last night it took me hours to get her to finally take her medication.  She should have started physio for her jaw two weeks ago, but they cancelled this without letting us know, so the trauma of getting her out the house and to there, caused her to go into a complete crash.  The not eating and being in so much pain, is having a knock on effect with her ME, and I am at a complete loss, and it is breaking my heart watching her suffer, plus we have had a couple of nights away and although it has done me good to get out of the situation to relax, it is still very hard on us all.

May was also ME Awareness month, and I wrote various posts on the reality of living with ME, how ME affects the sufferer and a very personal post on what it is like to be a parent of a child suffering with ME, you can find the posts here.

In May, I was lucky enough to have two trips away, the first to the Crazy Bear (post still to come) and then this week an amazing trip to Amsterdam where no flying was involved (also post to come).  I needed the break, C was fine and being well cared for by my parents.

June is going to be very stressful, as my Dad is having both his knees replaced (hopefully), just need to wait and see if with his medical history, they are going to do both together or one at a time.  So I am also needed to be around to help out with him.

I do also have some amazing news to share, I know some of you are on my personal Facebook and would have already seen this.

Finally, after what seems like months of having to keep quiet I can reveal that this happened on Wednesday

I am very proud to announce that I am going to be a Nanny on 7th December, it has been one of the hardest things to keep quiet about.

I hope you have had a good May, do you have any plans for June?
