The ups and downs of living with a teen

Weekly Update – 18/02/2017

Another week has gone by, and it has been half term here (not that it affects us much at the moment), so it is time for my weekly update.  It has been quite a week, so will apologise now if it is long.

I will start off with C, she had a very bad week last week, and this week her legs and pain have been no better, and I have had times when she has tried to get up without me, and ended up on the floor and heard her cry out for me to help her, unfortunately she isn’t little anymore and so we struggle getting her up, but we have a laugh and try to lighten it up. Her head pains have been just as bad as well, but we have not mentioned her school work or even looked at it, to give her a week of total rest, and I have had a few smiles from her.  We finally have her hospital appointment this coming Wednesday, so am hoping in next weeks update, there will be some positive news.

Now for S, he has caused a lot of stress and upset this week, he will never learn that he can not tell lies, and they are stupid ones as well.  We can read him like a book, but he tells me one thing and his Dad another thing, stupidly thinking we do not talk.  Last night was fun, when he finally got in and his Dad spoke to him about it, all 3 hate upsetting their Dad.

For the first time in years, we did have a lovely valentines day, my husband only had one job to do, which is unheard of, so I popped out with him and we went and had a coffee and did a bit of shopping, and I now have a nice new rug in my lounge (which the dogs love) and a new outfit, and we had a takeaway so neither of us had to cook.

Today, my husband has taken the two boys for a night out (it is their christmas present), so has been lovely having all 3 here.  I did ask C a few days ago, if she would like to do something special with me, just the two of us.  I said about going out for dinner and she said yes, stupidly I had not thought through about her legs etc.  So finally decided on our local Beefeater, as it is 2 minutes down the road, easy parking and very good wheelchair access, so I booked a table requesting downstairs and booked early, so it would not be busy and we would not be out long.  Unfortunately, she was not up to it so we had to cancel.  Instead I popped to Tesco and got loads of treats, we managed to get her downstairs and got her comfy on the sofa and we watched a couple of films and I popped out and got a chippy for our dinner at her request.  She managed two films and then had to go back to bed, but it was so nice snuggling on the sofa with my little girl, chatting and eating Ben and Jerrys ice cream straight from the tub, which she thought was great, as that is a very rare treat.

A must when watching a film

And a couple of my facebook memory pictures.

Hopefully next week, I will have some positive news on C, but will do an update on how it goes on Wednesday, just not looking forward to getting her to London.

Hope you have all had a good week x

Thank you for visiting x
