The ups and downs of living with a teen

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone, did you have a lovely christmas and new year? Or was your christmas like ours full of ups and downs and family dramas?

We were really looking forward to christmas this year, as it was the first christmas we were going to have all 3 children under one roof for christmas day, even my husband who is not a big on christmas was looking forward to it. This is the first year we didn’t have a list of what C wanted for christmas, we made sure she was rested for the day and she did great and manage quite well on Christmas day, she had no idea of what she was getting, so when she was opening her presents her face when she opened her new iPad was a picture, she already had an iPad mini and as she uses it a lot to do her art etc on, we decided to get her a full sized one.  Unfortunately, it got very stressful later in the day with our parents causing the stress.  Later on once my inlaws had gone home and C was back in bed shattered but happy, we were chatting with the boys when the door bell went, and it was three people with a dog, asking if we had lost one of our dogs, it was a gorgeous german shepherd with one eye, they had found it loose and knew we had one.  He wasn’t ours and they had no idea who he belonged too, so after a bit of chatting and introducing him to our dogs they all seemed to like each other, we agreed to take him in until the vets opened and we would take him to be scanned, and I would share his picture across all the for sale groups and local groups to try to find the owner. Ten minutes later they were back and the owner had been found, was so happy he got to go back home.

We then decided to forget christmas and look forward to new years eve, so when I woke up on new years eve feeling really ill I was not impressed, we had a takeaway the night before and I think this was the reason.  Luckily after being in bed all day and sleeping on and off, I felt well enough to go out.  We packed up and went to our friends for the night, C was struggling so stayed with my parents and had a little party with them.  Although I am still suffering with my sciatica I did manage to have a dance and have a great time.

I am now glad to say goodbye to 2016, which was one of the worst years of our lives, with C being ill and the constant battles.  I am now looking forward to 2017 with things improving with her health (hopefully).  It is also a milestone birthday for me and in 15 weeks I will be sunning myself and sipping cocktails in Cape Verde celebrating.

I also have lots of plans for my blog and look forward to sharing the journey with you all.

Hope you had  a great christmas and happy new year to you all x

Thank you for visiting x

    1. He was quite laid back about it all, and was more interested in my dogs, the people who found him couldn’t take him in and we couldn’t say no (unless our dogs didn’t take to him being there). Was glad of the happy ending though x

    1. It was lovely, my Mum said she hoped he hadn’t been abandonded for a puppy, which broke my heart, the kids all wanted to keep him and I just know if the owner hadn’t been found he would have probably stayed x

I got one for christmas too and they are so brilliant 😀 Taking that dog in was so lovely of you, but it’s nice that it got back to it’s owner the same day. I remember a few years ago when I lost one of my cats on Christmas day, it was heartbreaking but luckily we found him the next day!

    1. Her face was a picture just lit up, and she still says now she had no idea :), we are all huge animal lovers so it wasn’t really a problem once we knew our dogs were ok with him, but was so happy when he got reunited with his owner, I would have gone mad if one of mine had gone missing x
