Blogtober Day 4 – Share A Secret About Yourself

We are into day 4 and todays topic is ‘Share A Secret About Yourself.  Since seeing the list about joining Blogtober, I have sat struggling with trying to find a secret to share, so I am doing my post on secret phobias.

Apart from the usual spiders, heights etc I have a huge phobia of worms, yes you read that right I am petrified of worms, and my children think this is hilarious.

I am not sure what it is about them, but if I see one, you will see me backing away, on the very odd occasion that I do some gardening I am a nightmare, and I cannot touch anything with gloves on and if I know I may see a worm, well lets just say it is something out of a comedy sketch.

When S was younger he would often bring worms in to show me, I have always been great at not showing my fears in front of them, but one time he dropped it on the floor, I have not moved so quickly in my life.  He then started waving it in front of me, I managed to get out of the room and hid in the conservatory until he finally took it out. I was shaking I was so scared.

C was just as bad, she loved being out in the garden with Grandad, helping him do the gardening and she got herself a little pet, and named it ‘wormy’.  Yes my gorgeous blonde haired blue eyed little girl had a pet worm, and she used to take great delight in bringing wormy in to see me, so I could say hello.  The fact that wormy used to be various sizes never mattered, and I could get her to take it back by saying hello to wormy and that she should take it back to its mummy.  She would spend hours playing with her pet.

So there you go, and you can laugh if you want too, as I often get laughed at and teased over this by my very caring family.

Do you have any secret fears?

Thank you for visiting x

I don’t even know if I can say ‘secret’ as I have made this clear to family and friends, I am deadly afraid of rats, even writing the word made me feel sick to my stomach! I grew up in London so as you can imagine, I am familiar with them but truly if I came face to face with one now I think I’d drop dead on the spot! I get the worm phobia hun, they are definitely not something I’d choose to be around either! xx

I can see why worms would scare you, I have a fear of rats/mice but for the specific reason that their tails really freak me out! They look really thin but oddly sturdy…?! URGH.

Blogtober sounds fab! I don’t really have a secret that is something I would share to be honest, though my phobia is BIZARRE. I Love aquariums, I could watch fish for hours but if I see a dead fish or a fish comes out of water, jumps, flaps… well I’ve nearly passed out before! Ha!

I get what you are saying, I am a bit like that and one reason I hate the sea is the thought of a fish swimming around me x

  18. 04/10/2016 / 9:06 pm

That’s really interesting. I don’t like touching worms but I probably don’t have a fear of them. I definitely get it though! They’re slimy and unpredictable with their movements!

I don’t particularly like worms but I’m not scared of them – I just think they are disgusting. Weirdly, I’m scared of bananas which I know is ridiculous because they can’t harm me at all. I just hate the smell, texture, taste – I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM.

I am a bit like that with tomatoes but that is due to being forced to eat them when I was at school and they made me sick, I can smell them a mile off x
