The ups and downs of living with a teen

Happy New Year

Now Christmas has been and gone, and we have survived those days in between where we have no idea what day it is, New Years Eve is finally here.

The chance to say goodbye to the old year and welcome in the new year.

2015 has had some great highlights, an amazing holiday to Dominican Republic back in May, was our first child free holiday in years, and we want to go back with our Daughter at some point.

We also had an amazing trip to Paris in August, first time any of us had been and had a wonderful time and a couple of moments you do not want your then 11 year old to see.

We have had fun with family and friends and watched our Daughter leave Primary school and embark on her new journey into Secondary school where she has grown so much.

We have set up our own business in our own studio.

And not forgetting starting my blog, I am amazed at how much I am loving my life as a blogger, and how supportive the blogging community is, and I have found some amazing new friends as well.

We have also had some very down moments including losing my husbands Nan.

So saying goodbye to 2015 and looking forward to 2016, I will be partying with friends tonight and for the first time in years will have one of my stepsons with me 🙂

I gave up making new years resolutions a long time ago, no one ever sticks to them and they are usually forgotten within the first week of January.  Instead I make challenges, these are all sorts of things but personal to me.

I am actually looking forward to the start of January, leaving behind 2015 and starting to work on my challenges, I also have so much planned for my blog also.  January is going to be a very busy month for me and I can not wait.

Do you make New Year Resolutions, or are you like me and gave up on them a long time ago?

Whatever you are doing tonight, whether you are out partying or at home having a quiet one, I hope you all have a lovely time.

Happy New Year and look forward to carrying on in 2016 with you all x

  1. Sounds like you’ve got the right idea about resolutions. Most seem to be diet related or health. Gym membership peaks in January after all. However, something like 70% don’t go after February. Saying that, I HAVE made a resolution this year. I am going to learn to drive. No more buses after this year!

    1. I just don’t bother to make them anymore, as always get forgotten about. Good luck with your learning to drive, I passed my test when I was 17 and would be so lost without my car. I hate buses and only go on them once in a while when I go into town with my daughter and then spend time moaning about the constant stopping x
