The ups and downs of living with a teen

My Christmas

Hope everyone had a good christmas, ours was lovely as always.

Christmas Eve started with me making sausage rolls with christmas songs blasting and singing away. After lunch I popped to the pub with my husband for our annual christmas eve drink, our daughter stayed at home with my parents.  I fell in love with the mulled cider and had a couple of those and my christmas baileys latte, before heading home for dinner and then prep the veg for the next day.

After dinner my daughter and parents went to visit friends to exchange gifts while we stayed home and sorted out the presents.  As I have mentioned before, although she hasn’t admitted it our daughter no longer believes in father christmas.  So her mean Dad played a trick we hid all the presents away and he wrapped up a lump of coal and an orange and put little tags on them.  I thought she would go into a full blown strop he said she would find it funny. When she got back home she just wanted to go to bed even though I asked if she wanted to leave anything out she said no and smiled at me.

Next morning, I made my husband go down with her first and we all followed she saw the funny side of it and found it funny.  She loved all her presents and was a very happy girl, as were we all.

We had a lovely breakfast of bucks fizz and eggs benedict before starting dinner, at lunchtime me, my husband and Dad went to the pub for our annual christmas day drink, my Mum and Daughter stayed at home as she was too busy on her new laptop.  We then went home and waited for my inlaws to arrive for more presents and a lovely christmas dinner.

On boxing day, I popped out with my parents and daughter as had to exchange some boots I had brought my daughter that didn’t fit, luckily for her they were now in the sale so she got new boots and a new top.  I got myself some jeans and jeggings and a new pair of slippers, I will not tell you the story of my new jeans but I embarrassed my daughter in the middle of the shop.

Christmas has been lovely for us this year, even though I thought it might not have the same magic now my daughter has grown up a bit more.

I hope you all had a lovely christmas and were all very spoilt x

Thank you for visiting x

    1. You are lucky my Daughter didn’t want to do any of it this year, which felt strange :(. It was lovely spending time together just trying to arrange to meet up with the boys tomorrow which is giving me a headache

    1. There is nothing nicer than having young children at christmas as it is so magical, this was the first year we didnt have all the magic was a bit sad, but still just as lovely x

  2. i love a little christmas eve drink too, in fact, it’s one of my traditions, after all, you need something to get you in the spirit. seriously, glad you had a great time and just because she doesn’t believe anymore it doesn’t mean that there are not a lot more memories that can be made and good times to be had.
