Duerrs Stawberry Jam Review

I was recently asked if I would like to review some jam from Duerr’sI was very happy to say yes, who doesn’t like jam, also had my mind racing on what I would do with the jam once it arrived.

Last week my jam arrived, I had so many recipes going through in my mind, narrowed it down to a few and planned a baking session for the next day.

Unfortunately, that is as far as my baking session went as my oven decided to go bang whilst cooking dinner that night and leaving me without an oven until my new one (fingers crossed) arrives this week.

What was I going to do now, I mean it would not really be a very interesting review writing about how to make jam on toast, or a bit more adventurous a jam sandwich.  Then someone suggested microwave mug cakes, excellent idea, so I got to work and made some mug cakes, this turned out to be a complete disaster, not sure what happened but they either did not cook long enough or were so dense or hard I really could not write about them.  This is a project for another day, as I am now determined to conquer the mug cakes.

So here I am looking like I am going to have to write about toast and jam, when my lovely blogging friends came to the rescue, and offered me to use their recipes, some of which I have made myself previously and can honestly say are delicious.

Firstly the wonderful Donna from What The Red Said suggested her delicious Jammy Lattice Pastries, these I can guarantee are gorgeous and very easy to make, I have made these myself previously and they were a huge hit with my family.

Next Alexandra from Mokuska suggested her delicious jam tarts.  These are something I have made with the kids since they could stand, they have all loved making these over the years and they are so easy to make.

There is so much you can make with jam and Duerr’s have such a range of products there really is a flavour for everyone.

You can also add it to your rice pudding for something extra, or a traditional victoria sponge cake or for something savoury try their peanut butter for satay sauces.

What would you make? Why not share your recipes here

  1. I’ve never cooked with jam and have only ever put it on toast or in a sandwich, but if I had to I think I would have to go with the tarts 🙂

I have made hundreds of jam tarts over the years, something quick and easy to do with the kids

  2. The lattice tarts look divine, I have not had a jam tart in a while but boy are they delicious. What are your plans for Christmas.

The lattice tarts are lovely and jam tarts are always a favourite. Hopefully if the new oven arrives I have sausage rolls and shortbread to make, cookie dough ice cream for my daughter but don’t need an oven for that luckily 🙂

  3. I have to admit to being a bit particle to jam, not sure I would make it to baking anything – I’d probably spread it on toast. x

Usually it is put on toast here as well, but I do love baking and it is something we always have in especially when the kids were little and wanted to do some baking

  4. I absolutely love a decent jam and even more so if it is in a pastry x
