I am honestly dreading the teenage years, if the pre-teen years are anything to go by.
She left Primary school in July, yes they had all outgrown primary school, but they were still little. She started secondary school in September, and suddenly looked so grown up. A few weeks down the line and she has changed and grown up so much.
And the attitude and her confidence has changed so much as well.
A little insight into my week so far, and yes I know it is only Wednesday.
Monday, I did post about what happened here, honestly I panicked and everything was going through my mind.
Tuesday, she had PE, now she is very much my Daughter, as this is her worst lesson. She has it twice a week on a Tuesday and a Wednesday. Every Monday evening we usually get something is wrong with her, and she gets the same response, well have a go and see how you get on. Her PE kit had been washed and ironed and I put it in her bag yesterday morning, so I knew it was fine. I was sitting in the studio yesterday afternoon working away, when my phone goes, and it was school. I was thinking what has happened as I answered it. I had a lovely conversation, about how my Daughter had been in the medical room all lunch time, she had trapped a nerve in her back again and was in a lot of pain, but had gone back to lessons. I asked if she had PE as I did not have her timetable up, to be told she had PE this morning, but couldn’t do it because her kit was wet, turns out she had not put the lid of her bottle of water on properly, whether this was on purpose or not I do not know. I did say she had a school trip today so hopefully she would be ok for that. She got home and moaned about her back hurting, but honestly it may have been hurting slightly but the way she was moving it was not a trapped nerve.
Also yesterday, the world ended, she could not find her mascara and it was of course all my fault, she had used it on Monday but it was gone. No idea where it is as I have looked as well. So she has borrowed mine until Friday, as I need it then as am going away for the weekend, and she can get a new one on Saturday. I really can not believe this was my Daughter saying these words.
Then we had the hour long discussion, of what to wear on this school trip today, she is not going anywhere glamorous and they will be outside probably getting muddy, but I was losing the will to live towards the end of it.
This morning, she could not find her clothes that were right in front of her, then she was moaning about her walking boots, which I had washed yesterday as they were filthy, as they are not glamorous and no I was not sending her in her trainers.
She has also grabbed her independence she went shopping with a friend the other week, she is also off to Fright Night at our local theme park with friends, and then arranging a trip to the cinema. I am never going to see her.
So for all of you that have not got to this age yet, this is just 2 days in the life of a pre-teen
