Last weekend, my Husband and I decided to treat ourselves and have a few hours out on our own. With the added bonus of treating ourselves to lunch at Wagamama in Uxbridge.
It was a lovely sunny day, and it felt lovely to get a day off and spend some time together. Browsing the shops and having a nice relaxing lunch out.
Uxbridge is host to an intu shopping centre. I know the centre very well, as I shop here quite a lot, usually with friends, so was a nice treat to go with my husband. We browsed Debenhams which is a store I love, before I dragged him round River Island and Next.
We decided to have lunch at Wagamamas, as we love the restaurant but have not eaten there in a long time, and thought it would be more relaxing.
As we sat perusing the menu, which you can find here, I could not make up my mind, and in the end got it down to
- Chicken Ramen – grilled chicken on top of noodles in a rich chicken broth. With dashi and miso, and topped with pea shoots, menma and spring onions
- Katsu Curry – chicken (or vegetables for vegetarian option) coated in panko breakdcrumbs. Covered in an aromatic curry sauce, and served with sticky white rice and salad
- Teriyaki Lamb – grilled teriyaki lamb with mushrooms, asparagus, kae, mangetout and chilli. All served on a bed of soba noodles in a pea and herb dressing and garnished with coriander.
This was my final three, and in the end I chose Chicken Ramen. Which is a dish I always love and enjoy and thought perfect for a lunchtime meal. While my husband also chose Ramen, but the Tantanmen Beef Brisket version.
And the best bit was as my husband was driving. I decided to have a glass of wine to have with my meal.
While we sat chatting, while waiting for our meal, the restaurant had such a happy, busy feeling about it, the staff friendly and helpful. The perfect place for a relaxing Sunday lunch.
Unfortunately, half way through our meal, my Daughter text and we had to rush to finish and leave, as many of you know she has an illness, we knew she was not good to text us.
One of the things I have recently found out is that you can you an intu Gift Card, in Wagamamas, which was perfect, as I do have a gift card to use, I left my husband my gift card whilst I popped to powder my nose. When I returned, he had paid without using the gift card.
This is fine, as it means another trip out another time.
