As many of you will know my Daughter recently celebrated her 15th birthday. Every year she has always had a cake which we have made at home. When she was little she used to have such an imagination of what cake she wanted. Luckily my Dad used to be a baker and could make her dream cake. As she grew older I used to make her a cake, usually chocolate and decorate it.
This year, she has been very ill and I just had no idea what I was going to do for her birthday cake, when bakerdays contacted me asking if I would like to review one of their cakes.
For those who have not heard of bakerdays before, they offer personalised cakes for any occasion and any theme you can think of, that can be posted through your letter box, although they do other sizes as well. But perfect if you want to surprise someone.
Ordering your cake is very easy (once you have chosen your design),
- letterbox gift cake (5 inches)
- small party cake (7 inches)
- medium cake (9 inches)
- large cake (12 inches)
Cake Recipe – these can alter depending on cake size
- traditional sponge
- lovely lemon drizzle
- half chocolate half sponge
- gluten wheat free sponge
- dairy free sponge
- rich chocolate chip
- fabulous fruit
The next step is to personalise your cake which is so easy as it is all there for you with prompts.
Once you are happy with how the cake looks you go to checkout.
The cake arrived on the morning of her birthday, on opening the box it was securely packaged in it’s only tin and with a little gift card. Even on opening the tin, bakerdays ensure that the cake is protected to arrive perfectly.
I chose the rich chocolate chip recipe and it was lovely, C loved her birthday cake and when I tried a small slice I was very impressed with the quality.
If you have a birthday coming up why not surprise them with a personalised birthday cake, or cheat this Christmas and have a Christmas cake made.
