Day 14 of Blogtober 2018, is all about never doing that again. Now I have sat and thought very hard about this, as I have been known to say this quite a lot.
We have all done the never doing that again, after a heavy night out, when we wake up feeling very ill the next day. Or going on a rollercoaster that scared us to death. So I thought I would tell you a little story that will no doubt make you all laugh, as it did my wonderful Husband and Daughter.
A few years ago, my Daughter and her friend decided they wanted to go to a roller disco, this took place every other weekend. They were so excited when we said yes.
We used to go and watch the girls, as they got better and started whizzing around on their skates, I would sit chatting with my coffee and cheer from the sidelines.
One week, everyone decided they were going to have a go as well, as adults could join in, as it was the family session. At this point I would like to point out that I have not been on skates since I was a child, and no matter what anyone tells you, it is not like riding a bike.
I eventually was worn down, and thought ok let’s try it, so off came my shoes and on went the roller skates. My husband and friends went off to try theirs out, a little wobbly at first but were soon in the swing of it.
I managed to stand up, and holding onto chairs stayed on my feet, before somehow pushing myself towards a partitioned wall where I could hold on.
I thought I was doing ok, until my body and legs decided to have a disagreement and I ended up doing the splits, whilst in front of an audience. I was stuck and could not get up. So I sat there and smiled and took the roller skates off, walked back to where were sitting and put my shoes back on, and vowed Never Again.
This has caused much amusement over the years from my kind and loving family.
So come on share your Never Again moments.
