Day 3 of Blogtober 2018, we are talking about couples as today is #nationalboyfriendday. As I have a husband and not a boyfriend, I will talk about him.
We have been together for 19 years, and last week celebrated out 16th wedding anniversary, and looking back it only seems like yesterday we got together.
Last year, the topic for Blogtober was Date and I wrote about our Wedding date, the day we pledged to be together forever. A date I look back on with very happy memories.
From when we first met, I knew he was special, yes we have our ups and downs, but he has always proven to be a great Husband, Dad and Now Grandad.
Like many couples, your partner becomes your best friend, someone who you can confide in, who will not judge you, they see you at your worst and they see you at your best.
I knew what type of man he was, when not he told me early in our relationship that he had two children, and they will always come before me. This just made me love him even more. He introduced me two the boys, and we quickly became a family, with me taking on the role of Stepmum.
A few years down the line, our Daughter joined the family making our family unit complete. They have a very special bond where they gang up on me, she is certainly a daddy’s girl.
We have had our ups and downs, like any couple, but we always manage to pull through and it makes us stronger. He has always worked hard and tried his best to make our lives happy.
We try to make time for us as often as we can, and have our date nights where it is just the two of us and we have fun, as we both feel it is important to put each other first and remember who we are.
Last November, we became Grandparents and this little lady certainly has Grandad where she wants him, they adore each other.
