Today is day 11 of blogtober17 and the topic today is all about kitchens. I had so many ideas of what to say about kitchens, so decided to talk about mine.
Ok I know this is not the best picture (this was more of C when she had a spiral fracture to her leg and was out of hospital). But honestly it is the only picture of my kitchen that I have.
We are lucky that we have a big kitchen, but I really hate it. I have not always hated it as it was so much better than our old kitchen. We also have so much more work space as well.
I have always loved baking and trying new recipes. Now that I have a new range double oven I started creating some lovely new meals. I was forever in the kitchen baking, often with C helping me. But the kitchen is just not what I want, it is spacious. It has a huge area we use for a dining room. But in honesty we could do so much more with it.
I use the kitchen mainly now out of necessity for cooking the family meals. Although I do still do the odd bit of baking now. Which I will admit I do miss.
I have a huge dream for our kitchen, and I often tell my husband just what I would like one day, I want the kitchen to be a family area, like those you see in films and on television programs, where it is the hub of the house.
One thing I would love to have is a kitchen with an Island in the middle which also has the hob, so I can prepare my meals whilst talking to my family, and have little helpers with me.
Then I want a lovely family dining table where there is children playing or doing homework.
The other end (yes I told you the space is large) I want it to be the family living room, with a huge leather corner sofa a coffee table and tv, so that all the family can be together. Where when my grandchildren visit I can hear their laughter and chat and talk to them about various things, and they can wander up and help Nanny.
This is my dream and one day it is going to happen, for now my kitchen is where I make my drinks and meals and I have no love for it at all.
Do you have a dream kitchen?
