Guest Post – Newlife Paints

Recycled Paint?! Never heard of it!

Ok, hands up, who has a garage/shed full of half empty paint tins?! Yep, me too, which is even more annoying because I work for a company which recycles paint! Recycled paint is a fairly new concept, the process was “invented” by my father (currently patent pending) and the main gist of it is we take all those half empty tins (collected from HWRC’s), add a bunch of limestone and clays, mix it, filter it, colour match it and pot it off into our livery. Of course it’s much more complicated than I make it sound; otherwise everyone would be able to do it.

Newlife Paints ( licences the process out to others so paint is being recycled up and down the country, between us we are preventing around 1000 tons of paint a year from ending up in landfill.

The paint is as good (if not better, if I do say so myself) than the main brand competitors and comes in 28 beautiful flat matt colours (see them here,, it is £29 for 2.5L, but if you order a sample pot you get a £5 off code for use on a full sized pot, so you get your money back if you decide to go with us!

There are a few stockists in the UK (we are always looking for more if you are interested), but the easiest way to order is directly from us on our website:

I am Amy from, I love blogging but eco living and the family business is really important to me, so please think of us next time you are redecorating.

I’ve never heard of this before, but I think it’s a fantastic idea – especially if it’s preventing around 1000 tons of paint ever year going into landfill!

I’ve heard about recycling paints, but would have no idea where to do it! I’d have thought mixing paints like this might lead to discrepancies between batches, but good to hear it’s all filtered so it’s the same!

I suppose that could be a concern, not sure how this would be addressed but would think you could speak to them to ensure that this does not happenx

I’ve got paint cans underneath my kitchen sink right now. I need to get rid of them already!
