Today is my Blog Anniversary, 2 years ago today I decided to take the plunge into the world of blogging. I remember sitting chatting to my husband and telling him I wanted to start writing a blog. His response was and how long are you going to carry on with it before you get bored, but I knew this was something I really wanted to do, and here I am 2 years later still loving it.
I decided to start blogging, as I read blogs and enjoyed them, and as my life was going to alter with my Daughter getting ready to leave Primary School and venture into Secondary School, with added freedom, I knew I would have more time on my hands.
Unfortunately, we did not know my Daughter would fall ill to a chronic illness and that yes our lives would change, but not the way we expected it too. I write posts about chronic illness and always update in my weekly updates about how she is getting on, as I have quite a few followers who are following our journey.
When I started writing my blog, I was doing it for me, and writing posts more for a diary to look back on in years to come, I never imagined anyone would be interested in my ramblings, but I have watched my blog grow from strength to strength.
Something else I learnt when I started blogging, was just how much more to blogging there is than just writing and publishing a post, the work that goes on behind the scenes at first can be a bit overpowering, but in time becomes something you do naturally.
I also have to shout out to the blogging community, you would think that other bloggers in your niche would be your competitors, but honestly it is like a big happy family, everyone is willing to help and give advice, if you have a question or a problem, they are always there for support.
One thing I have learnt is social media, there are so many platforms where you can promote your blog and keep up to date with your followers, I am still learning Pinterest but I will get there one day and hold a big celebration when I do.
I am amazed that two years on people still follow me and I get new followers daily, and the support that they give me, I am very grateful to each and everyone of you and hope you continue to enjoy the ramblings of my life.
Have you a favourite post that I have written, let me know as I always love to hear from you.
