This post is mainly for drivers, we all have that day we dread every year, yes MOT day, the day our lovely car has to go in and have numerous tests.
Yesterday, was our cars turn, now my car is and old girl now, but in the 4 years we have owned her she has been a great car and every year has gone through and never let us down and not even had an advisory. This is also the longest we have owned a car, as my husband gets bored with his cars.
4 years ago when we took ownership, I did not want the car it is a huge S Class Mercedes, I was scared of its size, thought I am never going to be able to park it, and just did not want it.
I drove it and fell in love, and as it has parking sensors parking is so easy. She does have a few problems as in the front window switches do not work but on the whole is nothing major.
So yesterday, we gave her a wash and a hoover, and made her look lovely and shiny, and my husband told me that if she fails on anything major we will get rid of her, which sent me into a panic, as this car is perfect and I can get C’s wheelchair in easily in the boot and shopping.
So yesterday afternoon, I drove her over to the MOT place and my husband followed, I had already spoken to them saying we would need a new tyre. I had a joke that I expect the same result as previous years and then walked out and left her there.
Then you have that nervous feeling, we all get it, where we are nervous, and scared of the phone ringing with the news, I was also worrying as this could mean we may have to get rid of her.
I paced around at home, making coffees and having my phone to hand, when the phone rang and it was the MOT company, I answered and got the news, she got through with no advisories, but failed due to the tyre which he said he would do, in case it needed any work doing on it. So I can keep her, I knew she wouldn’t let me down.
Do you hate the dreaded MOT day, are you a bag of nerves like me, or do you just go with the flow of if it fails it fails if it passes it passes.
