Blogtober16 Day 3 – If You Won The Lottery You Would?

Day 3 of #blogtober16 is ‘If You Won The Lottery You Would’.  I am going to respond to this question by answering if it was the big one.

First things first

This is something myself and my husband have talked about over the years, like everyone else.  As it would be a massive change in our lives. The first thing we would do is go away on holiday to let it all sink in. And not make any rash plans. Obviously a huge shopping spree for new holiday clothes as well.

The next thing on our list would be a new home. We have always talked about living in a converted barn. Having it converted to what we want in a home.

My husband would be car shopping and already knows what he would own. I just want a little run around for me to go about my business.

We would give to very close family and friends, those that have been there through good and bad, we already know who we would give too and the list is quite short, although I am sure a lot of people would start taking a lot more interest in us.

I have a few charities that I would give to cancer research, ACTSMA and Invest in ME, my main one obviously would be Invest in ME as that is something we live with daily through our Daughter, and anything we can do that could maybe help we would.

I would like to think it would not change us, obviously some things would change, more holidays, more shopping trips and trips out.  But I would still keep blogging and my husband would have his hobbies and do what he loves.  The kids would still have to work and not be handed everything to them on a plate, but they would not have to worry about mortgage/rent, new cars, holidays.

It’s always nice to be able to give back and help those who are in need especially if you’re such a huge sum amount. I’d love to be able to do that and also start a fresh 🙂

Hey Sam! I’m loving your blogtober posts. I had ME/CFS as a teenager for about 10/11 years, so I can imagine what you and your family are going through. Lots of love xx

    • admin
      3rd October 2016 / 10:24 pm

Thank you, I am sorry you have suffered with ME/CFS it is such a horrible illness, sounds like you are much better now which is always encouraging x

  12. 3rd October 2016 / 8:38 pm

It would be amazing to win although as I can’t even get a number each week I doubt I’d manage. I’d probably get a goo babysitter in so I could get some sleep I’m knackered!

    • admin
      3rd October 2016 / 10:22 pm

I can only dream of winning, that sounds like a great plan with the babysitter x

  13. 3rd October 2016 / 8:40 pm

I like your lottery plans! It’s great that you’d help out charities like Invest in ME. I’m not sure I’d know what to do if I won the lottery.

    • admin
      3rd October 2016 / 10:18 pm

Thank you, it is obviously a charity that is very close to my heart and I would do anything to help, as in turn it would help my Daughter x

  14. 3rd October 2016 / 7:43 pm

Living in a barn sounds bliss. It would be great to be able to do it up the way you want without worrying about money!

      3rd October 2016 / 10:28 pm

This is something we have talked about so many times, and how we would decorate and furnish it, maybe one day x

  15. 3rd October 2016 / 8:46 pm

It sounds like you have some great plans if you won the lottery!
I think I would do the same with my girls…Not hand everything on a plate to them x

    • admin
      3rd October 2016 / 10:17 pm

I have thought about it many times before. I think it is important for them to realise the value of money rather than just have it all given to them x

  16. 3rd October 2016 / 9:07 pm

Aw I think it is lovely that you would give money to charity, I would do the same, I would give to the Royal Marsden and would give to NSPCC.

    • admin
      3rd October 2016 / 10:14 pm

    • admin
      4th October 2016 / 8:56 am

      Haha I don’t blame you hiring a nanny x

  18. 4th October 2016 / 10:33 am

I’ve thought about this so much, because it’s obviously going to happen right?! I’d help out as many people as I could so that the money could change as many people’s lives as possible x

    • admin
      4th October 2016 / 12:17 pm

Of course it is going to happen, and it is lovely to be able to help people x

  19. 4th October 2016 / 10:26 am

If I were to win, a dream home and a fab holiday would be at the top of my list. I’d also definitely give some to charity.

    • admin
      4th October 2016 / 12:17 pm

Sounds like we both want the same if we win x

  20. 4th October 2016 / 3:07 pm

I would take a long ass holiday and buy myself a house! I’d also try start my own agency too.

    • admin
      4th October 2016 / 6:04 pm

I think you would need a holiday just to let it all sink in x

    • admin
      4th October 2016 / 6:03 pm

I used to play every week, but not so often these days x

  22. 4th October 2016 / 5:41 pm

I have always thought that if I ever win a lump amount from lottery, I will give to charity..

    • admin
      4th October 2016 / 5:49 pm

This seems to be popular with a lot of people and it is nice to give something back x

  23. 4th October 2016 / 10:41 pm

There’s something about the ‘if I won the lottery’ talk that actually make you feel all better. If only it would actually happen! I love how you straight away think about giving to charity. I would just about get as far as getting a nice big house and going on holiday then I’d probably see where things are after that. I’d love it if I could fund going to South Africa to volunteer!

    • admin
      5th October 2016 / 9:28 am

There is it is always nice to dream about these things. Charities do such great work and have to work hard for what they receive that the charities close to me I would not hesitate to give something back x

  24. 5th October 2016 / 8:11 am

I’m not even sure where I would start if I won that much money.

    • admin
      5th October 2016 / 9:25 am

This is why I think a holday would be a great start, to just get away and let it all sink in and think about what you would do next x
