My Week – 19/12/15

My Week - 19/12/15

This has been a funny old week really.  Last week of the school term, my Daughter was ready to have a break. She has been quite stroppy and moody this past week or so.

Monday I woke feeling ok but a little sad as it was the 17th anniversary of my Grandma’s death. She was like a second Mum to me. And I still miss her and chat to her in my head. One of my biggest regrets is that she never met her Great-Granddaughter she would have loved her.

Tuesday, our hoover started playing up. And I did my usual thing and took it to bits and found no reason for it to not be working.  With a bit of help from my Dad got it all back together again. And still didn’t work, so Wednesday we got a new hoover.

Wednesday evening the cooker decided to go bang. So Thursday ordered a new one which is not coming until next Wednesday.  Talk about timing, all ideas for meals gone out the window. Luckily I have my slow cooker and microwave to use.  But I wanted to start my christmas baking but have to wait now.

Friday, was end of school, unlike in my Daughters Primary School where they broke up at 1.15 which meant them having their lunch break and then going back into class to collect there stuff to go home, she broke up at 12 which meant no packed lunch, this made me very happy as I could never understand why they could not do this at their Primary School.

Today is also another day like Monday, it is the 24th Anniversary of my Grandads death, same feelings, I always hate this week of the year.

This weekend we are on our annual christmas night out with friends, we do this every year to exchange cards and presents and have a great night.  Our Daughter is going to my inlaws as they are taking her and her cousin to the pantomime tomorrow, so will pick her up from them after that, so we have all day to recover.

I hope you all have had a less expensive week than me and no disasters with items breaking. Are you doing anything nice this weekend?

What a mixed week – it’s typical with appliances isn’t it? At least it wasn’t Christmas Day! Hope you have a lovely Christmas week. Kaz x

It sounds like you’ve had a stressful week, I hated the weeks I was without an oven when mine broke – thank goodness for the slow cooker and microwave 🙂 I hope the cooker arrives on time and you have a less stressful Christmas x

It sounds like you had a special bond with your grandparents. I never met my real grandparents as they died before I was born.

Re this past weekend, I travelled to my mum’s house for Christmas.

Hope that you have a lovely rest of week.

I loved all my grandparents, my grandma on my dads side died when I was 6 I do remember her though and then my grandad died 24 years ago which broke my heart. My grandma on my mums side died 17 years ago and she was like my second mum I was very close to her and still miss her every day.

It is lovely travelling back home, hope you have a lovely christmas x
